Register for an NSO session (mystate.sdstate.edu) If you have already registered, you can confirm your registration at mystate.sdstate.edu.

Send all final, official high school & post-secondary transcripts and test scores to the Admissions Office (Box 2201, SDSU Admissions, Brookings, SD 57007) Placement into certain courses at SDSU may be determined by transcripts and test scores. An official transcript is one that is mailed directly from the school to SDSU. Include AP, CLEP and any other standardized test scores for which you would like to earn credit.

Find out if the Honors College is right for you (www.sdstate.edu/honors) Photo ID (required in order to get your student ID card) Immunization records (required, if not previously sent) Wi-Fi capable device (If you have one, our Orientation Leaders will help you get set up with guess access. It may also come in handy as you learn about the various technical aspects of campus.) Post-secondary transcripts and standardized test scores (if not previously sent) Calculator (the use of calculators is permitted for certain placement tests and not permitted in others; we recommend you bring one in the case that it could be used.) Umbrella (in case of rain) Layers (You will spend the majority of your time during NSO in the Student Union; however, you may be traveling outside from building to building through the session. We recommend that you check the weather prior to your session in order to have appropriate attire the temperature.)

We will provide you with a blanket, sheet, pillow and towel. You will need to bring your own personal and toiletry items.

Turn in your MMR immunization records SDSU requires proof of two (2) MMR [measles, mumps, rubella] immunizations. Choose your meal plan Check out all of your meal plan options now at www.sdstate.edu/campus (click Dining on the left). You will have the opportunity to select your meal plan online through your MyState (mystate.sdstate.edu) account during Orientation, or you can wait until you’re back home.

Attend information sessions Learn about academic resources and services, campus facilities and involvement opportunities.

Take necessary placement exams Visit www.sdstate.edu/aea for more information about placement. You will learn more during your Orientation session.

Set up your WebAdvisor account Our Orientation Leaders will assist you with this during your session.

Meet with an advisor to build your course schedule Register for classes Check out the SDSU Bookstore to add some blue and yellow to your wardrobe! Activate your Jacks E-mail account Visit mystate.sdstate.edu and click on the link in the top right corner to get started.

Order your textbooks from the SDSU Bookstore at sdstatebookstore.com Book lists typically become available in August.

Order your parking permit online through your MyState (mystate.sdstate.edu) account. Choose your meal plan online through your MyState (mystate.sdstate.edu) account. Put these important dates on your calendar Monday, January 13: First day of classes for the spring 2014 semester. Complete your enrollment verification on WebAdvisor (webadvisor.sdstate.edu) Look for more information closer to the start of the semester.

Pay your bill Billing information is available in mid-August for fall and early January for spring. Payment can be made online through SDePay (accessible on WebAdvisor for students or quikpayasp.com/sdbor/campus/studentaccounts/authorized.do for other authorized payers). Payment can also be made directly to the SDSU Cashiers Office by mail (Box 2201, SDSU Cashiers, Brookings, SD 57007) or in person (Administration, room 136). Payment in the form of cash, check and credit card is accepted. VISA is not accepted.
