PDS – Technology & Gas Systems PDS have now introduced a range of high pressure and low pressure gas connections under the SPIROTEK brand. These connections will be available in conjunction with valves and manifolds that are normally stocked at our facility.
DIN Valve for Industrial cylinders
Due to a number of requests for high capacity storage cylinders for Air, Nitrogen and Nitrox, PDS now have available 80 litre Water capacity cylinders with 300 bar fill pressure. Type 11 valves will be standard, however variations are available to suit specified gases.
Other products will be manifolds and connection assemblies for High pressure gases. The PDS LP hose ends are well accepted in the diving industry.
Depth gauges
PDS now stock Depth gauges with the fine scale required for diving operations as listed in AS/NZS2299.1:2015 The gauges are full stainless steel with dual scale 0-60 MSW. Rear flange mount with bottom entry connection. The gauges are reasonably priced and are ideal for dive control panels.
PDS will be at OZTEK 2017 PDS & Nuvair will have a professional stand at the 2017 Oztek Trade show. The show is scheduled for March 18 & 19th. The PDS Technical team will be on hand and Glenn Heubner from Nuvair in California will join us. So when at the show come & meet the team. There will be some great new products on show.
New range of Storage cylinders
The recently introduced 200 Bar DIN valve for industrial cylinders will prove as an added benefit to commercial diving contractors and other organisations using the G size 50 litre cylinders as part of their breathing air or Nitrox gas supply. The DIN valve will simplify connections and facilitate a better & easier connection for the commonly used regulators and HP whip hoses. The valve with 14 TPI and 1 in 8 taper fits the older and current series Worthington / Heiser cylinders that PDS have supplied over the past 20 years.
CO2 Scrubbers
When filled to the 300 Bar working pressure, the cylinders will hold approximately 24,000 litres of gas. Using large volume storage cylinders will work out economical in many circumstances. Another new addition to the cylinder range is the new alloy G size 48 litre cylinders with 169 bar working pressure. Ideal for marine applications. Call for details.
PDS Technician Jack Toy Qualifies as a Chamber Operator
PDS now supply all current Nuvair / PDS Nitrox systems with both a CO2 scrubber & a CO2 gas analyser. With the Australian Standard AS/NZS2299.1:2015 now setting a maximum of 600 ppm CO2 in both Air & Nitrox mixtures it is essential that the CO2 content in the gas be maintained below this requirement whilst at the same time monitored. CO2 levels can easily exceed the limits when producing Nitrox due to the CO2 passing with the Nitrox when using membrane production techniques.

ADAS DIVE Simulator now located and operational at the PDS Facility
The ADAS Dive Simulator is now located at the PDS Banksmeadow Facility and is part of the PDS Hyperbaric Training Facility that is located in the same building. The simulator is used for not only on-shore and offshore diver training, but also for chamber operators, supervisors and closed bell training. The system features most typical functions commonly used in industry panels including but not limited to: Triple Heliox gas supplies Provision for simulating 3 divers in a closed bell Digital or analogue pneumofathometers Hot water systems Dynamic positioning systems Fully functional reclaim system Simulated video feeds Smoke & fire simulation & containment system ( includes smoke machine ) Trunk & chamber transfer operations systems Many standard communication systems The simulator was installed into the Banksmeadow facility in late 2015 and has been in use since being commissioned within a few days of its arrival. For further support information and details on training programs please contact Kent Clifton-Bligh at the facility. Oversea enquires are welcome.
Come Visit Us Pro-Diving Services welcomes visitors to our facilities. If you are in the area and would like to call in and visit our facility or talk over any special requirements you may have, please feel free to call us and make an appointment. We will try to assist you with our premium support as well as assisting you with recommending any specialised equipment you may require. The PDS Hyperbaric Facility conducts regular Chamber experience dives. These are both 30 meter and 50 meter programs. The dives are available for individuals, Dive clubs and Dive centre groups. Experience not only the actual dive but also learn more about how chambers operate when used for the treatment of DCI. Call for the timetable schedule.
Nitrox Generator Training System PDS have a full Nitrox Training production simulator system at the Banksmeadow facility that is used for extensive training of operators. The system allows training in understanding how Nitrox is produced with hands on experience and also demonstrates what happens to the gas during the production phases from drawing in the ambient air right through to the Nitrox filling of the cylinders. The system has been in place since 2013.
Moving towards ISO9001:2015 PDS have now started to move from its current ISO9001:2008 Endorsement towards the new ISO9001:2015 Quality Management endorsement. PDS Senior Technician James Reed recently completed the Transition Training Course in May 2016. The course was conducted by the Ferriby Group of Companies. James received a “Certificate of Completion” for the training. Over the coming year PDS will be upgrading its documentation, procedures, work instructions, policies and other related documentation so as to meet this new Standard.
Cisco Film Shoot
ADAS Chamber Operator Courses now at PDS Facility The next scheduled Chamber Operator Course is scheduled for August 29th 2016. This courses is conducted over a 5-8 Day period pending whether applicants are ADAS Divers or nondivers. Part 1 & Part 2 ADAS Divers will only need to do the 5-day module of the course. At the completion of the course students will be qualified to operate twin-lock multi-place compression chambers for both diving & nondiving operations. Professional Diving Services are endorsed to issue ADAS certification.

Low Pressure compressor with HP back up and 4 Gas analyser
The above Low pressure breathing air compressor system was built up late 2015 for a major project being undertaken by Veolia in Kalgoorlie. It comprised of a high output rotary screw compressor with refrigerant dryer & triple Hankison filtration. This was mounted on a large air receiver. 10 Outlet connections for breathing air hoses were part of the system. Dual 50 litre x 200 bar WP High pressure air storage cylinder formed part of the emergency back up that was required for the project. This high pressure emergency air was connected to a high flow HP>LP Aqua Environment regulator which in turn could activated quickly should an emergency occur with the low pressure air supply. A Nuvair Pro-4 Warn gas analyser also formed part of the system that allowed constant monitoring of the compressors air supply. This analyser monitored CO, CO2, Oxygen and moisture content. The entire build up was mounted on a set of forklift guides so as to allow it to be moved as a complete module. Veolia sent 2 technicians to the PDS facility to train on use and general trouble shooting prior to the project commencing. The unit ran non stop 24/7 for around 30 days during the project without any problems. Having technicians trained at our facility for the project proved to be extremely advantageous to the task ensuring that their was no down time during the running.
