PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING MICROENCAPSULATED PHASE-CHANGE MATERIALS (PCMs)
CONTEXT
TECHNOLOGY SUMMARY
Microencapsulated PCMs are costly to produce and require high amount of raw materials.
This technology relates to a process for manufacturing Microencapsulated Phase-Change materials.
Thanks to this technology, it is possible to microencapsulate the PCMs in order to improve and ease their distribution, integration and performance in many different substrates. It is also possible to design and manufacture a great variety of PCMs with different fusion points and thermal inertia that can be used in several sectors for thermal conditioning applications.
APPLICATIONS The materials manufactured with this technology are useful for thermal conditioning in a great variety of sectors, such as: construction automotive textile electronics telecommunications
It consists in a version of the already known spray drying technique that has been improved and optimized.
BENEFITS
Improved
technique: This technology has been optimized in order to improve the manufacturing process and thus reducing the overall manufacturing and integration costs compared to other PCM solutions.
Reusable: It is possible to reuse all the materials that may be left from a manufacturing process, thus greatly increasing the production efficiency.
No
wastes: Asides from reusing the materials left from the manufacturing process, this technique is also efficient and eco-friendly, which means that it doesn’t produce any residues.
