Participants can reserve rooms in the Great Minds block via the following link at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast or by calling 1-800-678-4120 and providing the group code “Eureka”. We have a limited number of rooms available at a reduced rate of $149 per night on a first come, first served basis. The deadline for reserving rooms in our block is June 26, 2017. All reservations must be reserved via credit card, but are not charged until arrival. Rooms may be cancelled without charge if notice is received by 11:59pm on the day prior to arrival and a cancellation number is obtained.

In this session, the first of the foundational series, instructional leaders and educators explore and analyze the curriculum to understand how lessons components build toward a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of mathematics. This new session for administrators and instructional leaders provides them with information and resources to develop and sustain a successful implementation. This session provides teacher-leaders, math coaches, and curriculum specialists with a window into the coherence of the curriculum by illustrating the progression of fluency work across grades. Continued from previous day. Teacher-leaders, math coaches, and curriculum specialists study and practice solving problems using math drawings, with an emphasis on tape diagrams. Participants study the mathematical progression that forms the major work of their grade band. Educators learn how the concepts, terminology, instructional strategies, and models they teach relate to the prior and subsequent grade levels.
