Program Coordinator - Better at Home Program, South Vancouver (Housekeeping) Program Coordinator Better at Home Program – Vancouver South (Housekeeping) Job Description: The goal of our Better at Home program is to provide non-medical services to support seniors living in their own homes for as long as possible. The Better at Home Coordinator would be the key contact for the day-to-day activities of the Better At Home program in the Vancouver South (Housekeeping Services). The Coordinator reports to the Program Manager. Your main responsibilities:           

Coordinate Better at Home Housekeeping Services in Vancouver South in partnership with South Vancouver Neighbourhood House. Recruit, train and oversee contractors, relevant staff and volunteers Intake Clients and responsible for management of overall relationship with the clients Monitor the uptake and needs of seniors using /wanting to use Better At Home services Assist Program Manager to write reports for funders, as needed Promote and market Better at Home services Arrange Advisory Committee meetings and take meeting minutes when needed Maintain appropriate records for evaluation, funders’ and organizational requirements Ensure there are appropriate policies and procedures in place as the project grows Carry out other duties as assigned by the Program Manager Actively participate in the Better at Home Community of Practice Requirements and Qualifications: You will be a self-starter, organizer and program operations person that is passionate about being in service to others and running services that are needed. Your specific qualifications will include:

           

Graduate degree in related field or a combination of education and work experience in volunteer management, human services or project coordination. Strong business acumen Demonstrated experience working with seniors Experience facilitating group dialogues Administrative, reporting and operations skills Strong written, listening and oral communications skills Ability to work with volunteers/contractors and assist in building their capacity Strong interpersonal, organizational, networking and leadership skills Knowledge of relevant community resources, service providers and networks Ability to work cooperatively in a non-profit organization and ability to work with community partners Organizational and time management skills and capable of working independently Strong computer skills JOB DETAILS 14 hours per week @ 18.00/hour (some weekend and/or evening work may be necessary) Regular position for 1 year with possibility for renewal
