WELCOME Since starting as Director in October I have been overwhelmed by the generous welcome from the people here in Lyme Regis. Building is starting in January. The improvement to the venue will be vast – a new second bar downstairs and new toilets, including disabled facilities. This is a significant achievement, following years of fundraising by dedicated staff and volunteers. For the past two years the Marine has been home to the Lyme Regis Film Society. We are delighted to announce that the Marine will now be presenting National Theatre Live, Royal Shakespeare Company Live, Met Opera, and Bolshoi Ballet screenings. The Lyme Regis Comedy Club, which previously ran at the Pilot Boat, moves to the Marine in January. Hosted by regular compere Tom Glover, this is different from our headline shows; there will be four comedians performing sets in a comedy club style. This Is The Kit is our big music show for January. You might have heard them on their recent BBC Maida Vale live session. I’m also excited to meet all of the Marine Players, whose community presentation of the Vicar of Dibley promises to be a fun event. Gabby Rabbitts Director of the Marine Theatre
