delivery. During this time, the Office of
secondary data center, deployed over 15 servers, both virtual and physical, and deployed a 16.8 terabyte storage area network for mail and server storage, all of which is designed for
maximum operational backup and reliability. Over the next few weeks, the project will enter
its pilot phase, which deploys e-mail, calendar,
directory, and other “collaborative” services. The Office of Information Technology will serve as the pilot group for the new email and
calendaring systems. Once the project engineers are confident the systems are ready for
production, and the project team is poised for
deployment, university-wide migration should
begin, starting mid to late October. So, over the next few months Information Technology and the services we deliver will begin to shift the efficiency, productivity and collaboration of email and calendaring.
