ACTA GEOBALCANICA PUBLICATION ETHICS AND PUBLICATION MALPRACTICE STATEMENT January 10, 2017 All involved parties in the act of publishing in Acta Geobalcanica (the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer and the publisher) should accept and agree with the following ethic statement which is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. 1.

DUTIES OF EDITORS

Editors are responsible for everything published in the International Scientific Journal Acta Geobalcanica. They should: strive to meet the needs of readers and authors, constantly improve the journal, ensure the quality of the material they publish, maintain the integrity of the academic record and always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed. The editor is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. Editor decision is based on Acta Geobalcanica rules (proper topic, properly technical edited manuscript and two positive blind reviews). The editor may at any time evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnic origin, nationality, citizenship, or political views of the authors The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate. Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author. 2.

DUTIES OF REVIEWERS

The reviewers by peer review process assist to the editor in making decisions about acceptance or rejection of some manuscript. Also the reviewers should assists to the authors for improvement of the manuscript. The reviewers who feels unqualified or from other reason their prompt review is impossible should immediately inform the editor. Reviewer should treat the reviewed manuscript as confidential document regardless of whether the manuscript will be published or not. Showing to other persons or sharing the manuscripts is not allowed. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting argument, objectively, without personal criticism. If some already relevant published work has not been cited or is not correctly cited, it should be identified by the reviewers. All read information or ideas should be treated as confidential and is highly forbidden their usage for personal advantage of the reviewers. 3.

DUTIES OF AUTHORS

Authors should submit manuscripts technically edited according to the given technical instructions. All authors should sign Ethical Statement after the submission of the manuscript. The authors should submit only entirely original manuscripts, plagiarism, and usage of a fraudulent data are forbidden. If the authors have used the work and/or words of other authors, they should be properly cited or quoted. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal is unacceptable and unethical. List of the authors should be based on their real contribution in methodological approach, design, ideas and interpretation of the submitted manuscript. The corresponding author should ensure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the submitted manuscript. Authors should disclose all sources of financial support for the project. If author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper. After the publishing of the paper, authors are encouraged to disseminate their paper on social media. EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, ACTA GEOBALCANICA
