Free Seminar: Raising Awareness of Financial Inclusion for Refugees Our Financial Literacy Project has been running for the past two years, offering free ‘Manage Your Money’ workshops and courses to asylum seekers and refugees across Glasgow. We look forward to building on the success of the project. This seminar is for community organisations that wish to support refugee integration through the development of the Financial Literacy Project. Active members of refugee communities as well as workers and volunteers are invited to attend this session.
This session aims to: highlight the policy and research background of financial inclusion in Scotland; discuss issues refugees face and identify how the ‘Manage Your Money’ courses have helped individuals practically; identify how participants can be involved in supporting refugees’ financial capability in their own communities and organisations; and challenge inequalities refugees face in Scotland and encourage dialogue about solutions Refreshments and lunch will be provided, and travel expenses will be given.
