RAPIER LOOM

www.ptdynamic.in

An unparalleled experience in textiles, integrated with the most modern applications in electronics enabled Panter to conceive the E58 that according to Panter's tradition, is available both in the positive rapier version, E58P and negative one, E58.

RAPIER LOOM

Introduction

The loom Panter E58, the evolution of Panter's experience achieves a wider field of applicability than previous models, for both light and heavy fabrics, thanks to the optimization of the rapier body and the further evolution of the tape control system.

The new electronic cabinet, CU2006, developed using the most modern technologies provides ease and simplicity in use and weaving operations checking. The new machine offers maximum reliability and high productivity through the possibility to maintain high speed

and elevate performance in working without difficult setups, assuring optimum quality of the product as well as low operation costs and reduction of the maintenance cost, with a strong reduction in wear of moving components and of consumption material. Another improved characteristic is the optimization of ergonomics and ease of article changing.

Versatility Rapiers: Positive and Negative

Panter can rapidly switch from a positive to a negative rapiers operation, providing maximum flexibility and a high rise in productivity. Negative rapiers can weave simple and standard wefts at high speed while positive rapiers are perfectly suited for weaving complex wefts such as hairy yarns, boucle, Liberian fibres (linen and hemp) and technical fibres such as Kevlar, carbon and glass fibres, aluminium and steel.

The distinction between positive and negative rapiers can be made by the weft exchange. • In the negative, picking (gripping, exchange and release) happens automatically. • In the positive, picking occurs by controlling the opening of rapiers in order to make weft gripping more reliable. Panter miniaturized rapiers are realized by using innovative pre-formed high-resistant steel technology, which can provide for the use of extremely small masses and high mechanical resistance. Small sizes, up to 8 mm, can optimize the stresses on warp yarns and enable the operator to arrange rapiers very close to healds. This also allows an operator to use a smaller shed, without compromising the maximum quality of the fabric. Moreover, such rapiers will enable the operator to use smaller tapes and tape guide hooks having a special geometry inside the shed. Unlike those used by other manufacturers, they will increase weaving capacity up to the most elaborate technical fabrics (Kevlar, glass fibres), multifilament and high weft density, which were notoriously unreliable on guideless looms.

Technology Control Unit CU2006 The control unit CU2006 is a multi-axle and multi-processor system that can communicate by can bus, Bluetooth and serial connection with the different internal and external devices.

The management of moving parts is done exclusively by digital technology. The graphic display and system of multiple selection menu, structured in icons divided by arguments and connected to the loom functions, allow easy and immediate programming of the machine.

Efficiency Direct Drive

From the very beginning the one thing that made Panter machines stand out was the revolutionary direct motor. The direct drive system has been developed and engineered entirely by the company since 1999. This device is intended to control the weaving machine directly without any brake clutch. This allows the motor to reach maximum speed in one single revolution as well. This means that starts and stops are repetitive, constant and controlled, which is absolutely necessary for maximum quality without any sign of stoppages. Moreover the electronic control of the motor will enable the operator to select the speed rate, to achieve various speeds according to a pre-established pattern to limit overload peaks, to cut down electric consumption from 40% to 15% and to reduce the mechanical stress of drives even up to 50% providing maximum reliability and low maintenance. The system considerably simplifies the operators work and makes it more comfortable. An interface allows the operator to program the direct motor in order to customize loom operations according to the weaver's needs.

Innovation Toothed Reel The tape control system is the heart of the Panter loom.

All mechanical components are sure and reliable and undergo sophisticated quality control tests to ensure they are perfect for high speed weaving.

Studied for years by the technical department, it's based on a screw-lead screw concept with multiple principles which grant high performances, noise reduction and low power consumption.

The system increases to a maximum the machine's versatility and allow frequent article changing.

The small number of moving parts and their particular configurations optimize machine reliability in high speed conditions and diminish wear and tear.

8

9

The E58 thanks to improvements in geometry and oiling has boosted the system's energy output and drastically reduced tapes stress at high speed, increasing their longevity and working quality.

Structure The structure of the Panter weaving machine is composed of superior units with highly engineered and technically superior components, which is the result of thorough investigation and long-standing research and development. Panter has been using Advanced Engineering Techniques to provide a Sturdy & Reliable Structure The 'shoulders' conceived according to an innovative vision going beyond contemporary traditional engineering techniques and comprise an ensemble of medium thick metal sheets that can provide the machine the necessary strength and sturdiness at all critical points without compromising its functions. The reason for this choice was to markedly reduce noice levels and to damp vibrations. Even if the damping capacity of cast iron is twice that of steel evidence shows that the damping capacity of sheet metal assembly may be 100 times that of cast iron.

10

11

The antiwear surface treatments of all pieces of the assembly protects sheets against atmospheric agents and keep the structural functions of mechanical components unaltered all through the passage of time. The metal sheets are laser-cut inside the company. This allows the maximum flexibility to meet all kinds of needs, through slight structural changes. These choices, made in 1992, have proven themselves successful by their full achievement of their purposes and the absence of any contra-indication to these principles. What was considered against the trend at the beginning is now fundamental for the modern machine which can fulfil all kinds of requirements in a constantly changing market.
