Required Setup Instructions: BlackBerry PlayBook Estimated time: ~ 1 – 2 hours (most of which is an unattended download) Note: There are general usage tips for PlayBooks in the User Quick Start. If you are unfamiliar with how a PlayBook functions, please download and review the User Quick Start first. 1. Create a BlackBerry ID for the PlayBook you are activating.  If you already have a BlackBerry ID for this device, skip this step.  Use a non-functional email account that readily identifies the device. For example, [email protected].  Click the Register for a BlackBerry ID button and follow the on-screen instructions.  Alternatively, you can set up the BlackBerry ID on the device during the initial setup. 2. While on your computer, set up an Adobe ID if you do not already have one.  When setting up your Adobe ID, use the same email address you used to create a BlackBerry ID.  As in Step 1, the email account does not need to be functional, and should readily describe the device. For example, [email protected]. 3. Charge the device.  Prior to turning on the PlayBook, plug it into a wall outlet using the supplied wall charger.  Power on the device by holding down the power button for a few seconds.  Make sure that you let the tablet charge fully before disconnecting the charger.  If the battery is already fully charged, you can simply power on the device. Note: If the PlayBook stops responding during any step in the process, hold down the power button and tap Restart. 4. Select language, network, and location settings.  Select your language.  Select an available Wi-Fi network. Swipe the screen left to proceed.  Select the appropriate time zone. Swipe left to proceed.  Select your region, then tap I Agree after reviewing the license. Swipe left to proceed.  Review the warranty information, then swipe left to proceed. 5. Sign in with your BlackBerry ID.  If you created a BlackBerry ID in Step 1, or already had one, sign in.  If you need to create an ID do so now either using your computer or the PlayBook.
