Recommendation: Per the request of the Doubleday Complex Development Committee, The City of Sheridan is applying for a Land & Water Conservation Fund Grant through the Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources. The Grant funds will be used for development of parking and lighting for the multi-use Complex and Park located just north of the new I-90 interchange for the City of Sheridan. The City of Sheridan is requesting $350,000, for the construction of the following: 2018 Construction Season • Complete installation of the access road and parking lot with gravel surfacing only • Coordinate installation of parking lot lighting with MDU END OF MEMO
Resolution No. 35-17 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF A LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE TO THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE PARKS AND CULTURAL RESOURCES ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHERIDAN, WYOMING FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO BUILD FOR MULTI-USE: Double Day Multi-Use Complex and Park
WITNESSETH WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Sheridan, Wyoming desires to participate in the Land and Water Conservation Fund Federal Assistance program to assist financing this project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Sheridan, Wyoming recognizes the need for the project; and
WHEREAS, the Land and Water Conservation Fund program requires that certain criteria be met, as described in the Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources, Federal Assistance application; and to the best of our knowledge this application meets those criteria; and
WHREREAS, the City Council of the City of Sheridan, Wyoming has matched the requested Land and Water Conservation Fund, $350,000.00 allocated from the Parks Improvement fund, 22.6930.5646.5713 in the FY 17/18 budget. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHERIDAN, WYOMING that an application for Federal Assistance, in the amount up to $350,000.00, be submitted to the Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources, Land and Water Conservation Fund for consideration to assist financing the construction of the Initial Parking and Lighting for the Multi-Use Complex and Park BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Lane Thompson, Public Works Director is hereby designated as the authorized representative of the City of Sheridan, Wyoming to act on behalf of the City Council on all matters relating to this grant application.
