Funding: Appropriate data management planning will be necessary to attract funding

Risk: RDM best practice protects against data loss and damage and personal/corporate reputational damage

Research Productivity: A data management plan is a useful device for both project planning and operational efficiency by bringing structure to your research data

Cost saving: Some of the hidden costs of RDM may be transferred to central services

 Every member of staff has a personal storage area – including PG Students (U:)  Central shared storage area is available upon request (R:) drive  Each research school has a shared drive accessible by all members of that school (X:)  Research groups can request access to the document management system (DMS): Highly structured, confidential information, access control.
