The Rolling Stones is an English rock band. It formed in 1962 in London when the leader guitarist Brian Jones and Ian Stewart joined the vocalist Mick Jagger and the guitarist Keith Richards. The band early recordings were mainly covers of American blues and R&B songs. After first achieving success in the UK, they became popular in the US during the "British Invasion" *. Later, they meet Andrew Loog Oldham who became their manager. Andrew gives a Bad boy attitude to stand in the way of the famous ’’ Beatles ’’. The Rolling Stones cause a scandal because of their eccentric look. In 1965, The Rolling Stones recorded "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and established The Rolling Stones as a premier rock and roll act. Then they revolutionize the world music with their album Aftermath because they used Indian Music , psychedelic music ( 19th nervous breakdown et Paint it black). It considered the better album of The Rolling Stones and more generally one of the better Rock’s album. The next year ,it’s the album Between the Buttons .Then Beggar’s Banquet , Let it Bleed , Sticky Fingers in and Exile on Main Street. They were successful. In 1969 , Brian Jones left the Band and was replaced by Mick Taylor. The 70’s was a turning point for them . The Rolling Stones left their Label and created their Label Rolling Stones Records but drugs and jet-set cause us a lot of problems. Then they recorded the very famous Angie. In 80’s The Rolling Stones found their definitive formation. The group was now composed of Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts. They released together the Album Tattoo you , Undercover , Dirty Work. During a few years The Rolling stones decided to make a stop and some of the make individual album. It was in 1989 that the Rolling stones started again to composed and released Steel wheels. It was the most bought album in a lot of countries and encourage them to continue their career. Since 1989, The Rolling stones concert around the world are successful and fill the biggest concert hall. Bigger Bang recorded in 2005 is today their last album. *{The British invasion was the term given by the media to the spread of the influx of Rock and Roll from the United Kingdom who became very popular in the United State in 60’s )
THEIR MUSIC: They became famous to record Rhythm And Blues (R&B) and Blues-rock. They were very influenced by Blues music and R&B. They were influence by Patty Smith, Bruce Springsteen, Chuck Berry etc ... Their musics are very various and it is why the Rolling Stones are very famous. In fact their musics were touched by Indian music , psychedelic music Etc ... The name Rolling Stone is from a song of a Blues man who calls Muddy Waters {Rollin’ Stone Blues}.
Their famous songs: Angie : It's included in the album Goats Head Soup in 1973. This ballad is dedicate to Angie Bowie (David Bowie's wife ) or to Anita Pallenberg (who was Richard's wife ). Sympathy for a devil : It wrote by Mick Jagger in 1968 . It's included in Beggars Banquet. Mick Jagger is the devil and name in his song The Christ, Nicolas II ( Tsar of Russia ) and the Kennedy's. The song was inspired by Le Maître et Marguerite by Mikhail Boulgakov. Rolling Stones Magazine placed it at #32 in their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. ( I can't get no ) Satisfaction : It's included in the album Out of our heads in 1965. The legendary Riff was composed by Keith Richards. Shine a Light is a 2008 documentary film directed by Martin Scorsese. He filmed the Rolling Stones at New York City's Beacon Theater on October 29 and November 1, 2006. It also included archive footage from the band's career. They sang their most famous song like Sympathy for a devil, Jumpin' Jack Flash , Start me up ...
