Welcome to the Saddle Brook Recreation Basketball Program! The recreation basketball program is for the children of Saddle Brook in grades 3 through 8. Our program teaches the fundamentals of basketball, but more importantly also teaches sportsmanship, teamwork and social skills. This year’s registration fee is $60 per child. If you have more than one child, each additional child is $55. The deadline for registration is October 11, 2017. If you would like to register your child for the upcoming season, the following three methods are available: 1. In person registration will take place on September 21st , 22nd, 28th and 29th at Veterans field (in the gray trailer) from 7-9pm 2. Online registration can be completed at our website  http://tshq.bluesombrero.com/saddlebrookrec. Please set up an account on the site even if you do not use it for registration. I will be using this site to provide certain information during the season that you will need to know. If you opt to register online, select the REGISTRATION INFO tab located at the top of the page and then select AVAILABLE PROGRAMS. 3. You can mail your registration form(s) and check to the address at the top of this letterhead. If you are interested in volunteering as a coach, please fill out the Coach Application form as well. This is also available during the online registration. With regard to uniform sizes, please refer to the size chart to make sure your child receives the correct uniform size. As a note, the uniforms run a little on the smaller side. I will have some samples at the in-person registration if you would like to see them before selecting a size. Travel tryouts for Boys and Girls will be held on October 14th. YOU MUST BE REGISTERED TO PLAY REC BEFORE TRYOUT DATE! In order to be considered for a team you must attend tryouts. There will be teams for each group if there are enough players interested. Travel Fee will be $115 per player to play to cover the cost of the league entry fee per team. Full payment would be due no later than October 31, 2017 if player makes the team. Each Team will consist of a maximum of 10 players. If you do NOT want your child’s photo posted, you must check the box and sign below.

 I do NOT wish to have my child’s photo on any public media I, the undersigned guardian/parent and my spouse, of the Township of Saddle Brook, in the County of Bergen and the State of NJ, in consideration of the benefits to our child indicated on this form and to the other children to be gained through their participation in the Saddle Brook Recreation Programs, no matter how designated or described, do hereby release the Township of Saddle Brook and its agent, servants and/or employees and volunteers from any and all claims or liabilities or actions whatsoever for medical bills, medical expenses, injuries, damages or losses that may be sustained by ourselves and/or our child from any participation in any recreational program in the event the medical bills and/or losses or damages exceed the Township of Saddle Brook’s supplemental insurance policy. We fully understand that the Township’s insurance policies are supplemental insurance policies only and that primary insurance for any injuries, claims, damages or losses are to be compensated to us through our own primary insurance policies. In the event we do not have primary insurance then the Township’s supplemental insurance policy will not come into effect and we will not be entitled to present any claim or action against the Township of Saddle Brook.

Coaches will be assigned by the Commissioner. If you have a child in the program, this form should be returned with their registration form. All coaches must be Rutgers certified and fingerprinted before the season begins!! Fingerprinting/background check instructions can be found on our website at http://tshq.bluesombrero.com/saddlebrookrec under the ‘Helpful Links’ section on the bottom right side of the page. Once processed, coaches must obtain an ID badge from the SB Recreation dept. which will be worn during all practices and games. There are no exceptions to this rule  it is a town ordinance.

CODE OF CONDUCT Disclaimer     

It is understood that there will be NO arguing with the officials at any time. It is understood that profane or abusive language will not be tolerated at any time while participating in any Saddle Brook Basketball activity. It is understood that fighting will not be tolerated at any time while participating in any Saddle Brook Basketball activity. It is understood that you will conduct yourself in a proper manner while participating in any Saddle Brook Basketball activity. It is understood that players will receive equal playing time, no matter their skill level (recreation basketball only).

I hereby agree that if I fail to abide by these terms, while coaching or participating in a basketball event, I will be subject to disciplinary action from the Saddle Brook Basketball Commissioner, in conjunction with the Saddle Brook Recreation Department.
