SAFE HABITS FOR REAL ESTATE AGENTS Real estate agents find themselves working alone in often challenging environments, behind closed doors, on a daily basis. This is capable of presenting multiple opportunities that can severely impact your safety and confidence. You can address these risks by developing safe habits and following them when dealing with people. Real estate safety starts by creating your safety plan.

VERIFY CLIENT INFO Screening Clients Ask for id and copy information P Verify client info/check references P Open Houses Ask for id and record/take a picture P Obtain car description and licence plate, P if possible Have a colleague present to take P registration and control access points

Keep clients together and in sight at all P times Avoid entering smaller rooms, stand P out in the hallway Avoid getting trapped and watch your P positioning around exit points Maintain control of the showing at all P times

Familiarize yourself with the layout P and any hazards associated with the home (such as the knife holder) Note all entry/exit points P Preparing for the showing Charge your cell phone batteries P Wear shoes you can run in and P dress accordingly
