Sant Namdeo. Great Devotee of Vitthal. He Lived in the village Narsi. Performed 'Keetans' everywhere.
Travelled all over Maharashtra with Sant Dnyaneshwar. Later travelled all over India.
Taught the people deep devotion to God and also instilled in them the desire to protect their religion. Went to Punjab, composed songs in Hindi. Spread the message of equality among the people. Some of his songs are found in the religious book of the Sikhs,'Guru Granth Sahib'.
Sant Namdeo was Five years older than Sant Dnyaneshwar. 3
His brothers- Nivruttinath and Sopandeo. His sister- Muktabai. As these were children of 'Sanyasi',they were banished from their community.
Muktabai's words gave new hope to Dnyandeo.He taught people to have faith in God.
Gist of Sant Dnyaneshwar's advice'Give equal treatment to all.Help those in trouble and allay their misery. At his times all religious teaching was confined to Sanskrit books. But language in everyday use was Marathi

Dnyenshwar wrote 'Dnyaneshwari' in Marathi. Dnyandeo took Samadhi at Alandi near Pune.Thousands of pilgrims go there on the eleventh day of Ashadh and Kartik. 4
