BUSINESS ARISING FROM AGENDA: 1. Opened Meeting with a Prayer 2. Financial Report: Current Parent Group balance is $5,567.04 Parent Group approved the following Expenditures: $25 to Wyatt Gift certificate- $120 Mother's nature program for pre-school- $350 Juggler's Christmas program for all students-$60 Crafts for santa breakfast- $91 for game prizes for Santa Breakfast. 3. Principal's Report ( Mr. Terry Adkins) Updates: * Ascend continues to modify & Improve - Cost is $0 * First quarter report cards printed directly from Ascend program- all went well * School Open House on Sunday January 26, 2014 Noon - 2pm to kick off Catholic Schools week. Need to plan in December, 2013. Met with Recruiting and Retention committee to discuss ideas and plan before Parent Group meeting. * Mass server program continues to grow. * Lunch Monitors & Signup Genius site very helpful. Mrs. Herold back and thanked all for the prayers. Tanks to all parents who helped out in the cafeteria and library. * Box top wars continue. Kindergarten won October. $1500 + raised for the school Upcoming Events: * Picture retakes and Group photo's around school. Friday November 15th. * School-wide Thank you card program for parishioners in November. * Spirit team activity - Friday November 22nd-- make fleece blankets for donations. * Parent-Student Teacher conferences November 25th- Used signup Genius with success * December 4, First Reconciliation * December 10, grades 5-8 St. Nick's Musical Prayer Service, 7 pm in church * December 17, a Christmas Carol Program for students, afternoon. * December 20th- K-4 having a 30 minute Musical Program in church ( Parents welcome!) Christmas Class parties in Class rooms in the afternoon. ( Not in Cafeteria) * Would like to discuss some Christmas support for a school family 4. Santa Breakfast: Scheduled for December 7, 2013. -We have had a lot of volunteers but there is still much help needed. One area that could use a volunteer is a Decorations Chairperson. If someone would love to figure out how to transform a cafeteria into a winter wonderland, feel free to sign up for this or any of the other volunteer opportunities available:

5. Future Parent Group Meetings- 12-9-13 6 pm in the art room. 6. Upcoming Dates of Interest: ( See Principal update above for dates in more close proximity) ** QPAC Drawdown--.. no formal announcement yet ** School Open House- Sunday Jan 26th Noon- 2pm ** VIP Day- a lunch during Catholic Schools week ** First Communion- April 27, 2014 ** Fine Arts- Wednesday April 30, 2014 ** Teacher Appreciation Luncheon- First week of May, 2014 ** Springfest/ Walk a Thon (combo) Friday May 16, 2014

7. Recruiting and Retention Committee- A new committee was formed last month. Jodi Boyle is Chairing this committee and can be reached by email at [email protected]. The committee is working on building quality marketing materials/ promotional items and designing a more welcoming open house experience. The goal is to improve our recruiting efforts by having a written and professional plan to attract new students and increase enrolment. Discussed a wall in the school to put a graduating class photo from previous years and starting a new tradition of wall of graduates...After the Open House in January, the committee will be working on a plan to assist current students/ Parents investigate ways to stay on the Parochial school path and help avoid student run off in the middle school years. If you would like to help with this exciting new committee, please reach out to Jodi Boyle. Another meeting will be set soon and will be announced in the Monday newsletter. 8. Fundraising Efforts/ Ideas: Kroger Rewards -- start a contest in December for an out of uniform coupon. Looking into issue with registration and receipts intermittently not showing our name. Box tops going well... Kelly Rengering looking into Dine to Donate with local Restaurants such as Eli's, Applebee's, Walt's, Wendy's. Shopping Cents to buy gift cards was discussed. Mr. Adkins mentioned PG to consider "special lunches" as a fund raiser such as extra Pizza day/ Pancake day etc. We also collect Tyson Rewards from Tyson products. ( 24cents a piece) -labels for education and coke rewards. Work with Mr. Shortt (Computer teacher) to do a specific fundraiser tab on school website. Outline all the ways we raise money and who to contact for each fundraiser.

All those interested in attending class parties & Volunteering -- must be fingerprinted & have Virtus training.

NEXT MEETING: SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 9, 2013 AT 6 PM IN ART ROOM- ALL PARENTS WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.
