Along with the costs of relamping, fluorescent lamps consume a great deal of energy and can contain hazardous materials. The Samsung L-Tube series of lamps is an energy-saving LED alternative to conventional fluorescent G13 base lamps 24 in. (600 mm) to 60 in. (1,500 mm) in length. L-Tube provides sustainable lighting that consumes less energy, produces better lighting performance and requires lamp replacement far less often than conventional fluorescent lighting.
For example, in Samsung tests, a 1,200 mm (47.24 in.) L-Tube lamp consumed only 24 W of energy. Installing an L-Tube lamp instead of a 1,200 mm 36 W fluorescent tube results in a 36 percent energy savings. Lower energy consumption resulted in an equivalent 50 percent utility bill savings. L-Tube lamps provide up to 40,000 hours of lighting; an average fluorescent tube lasts only 10,000 hours. An extended lifespan combined with lower utility bills offers the financial benefit of rapid ROI with L-Tube.

A 600 mm 12 W L-Tube lamp consumes 35 percent less power than a 600 mm 20 W fluorescent lamp. A 1,200 mm 24 W L-Tube lamp consumes 35 percent less power than a 1,200 mm 36 W fluorescent lamp. A 1,200 mm 30 W L-Tube lamp consumes 50 percent less power than a 1,500 mm 58 W fluorescent lamp.1
Provide comfortably lit spaces that reduce safety risks L-Tube lamps are designed to contribute to safer environments and do not emit harmful ultraviolet (UV) or infrared radiation (IR). Because LED lamps produce far less heat than conventional fluorescent lighting, L-Tube lamps do not generate environmental discoloration or fading.
Replace lamps with tubes designed for fast installation L-Tube is designed to offer a fast, convenient method of upgrading existing fluorescent lighting systems to LED technology. L-Tube lamps come in retrofit kit form and include the components necessary to fully comply with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations.
L-Tube lamps contain no glass or filaments, reducing the risk of breakage during maintenance and installation. L-Tube lamps also contain no lead, mercury or other hazardous materials, meeting the requirements of the European Union Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive.

Unlike fluorescent, halogen or compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), L-Tube lamps switch on without delay. Offering no flicker or glare, L-Tube increase comfort by reducing eyestrain. L-Tube lamps are available in warm, neutral and cool light models to meet virtually any design need.
AC-Direct Connect with Internal Driver (Power Supply Unit, or PSU). These high-efficacy L-Tube lamps require merely removing the existing ballast to install. Conventional Ballast Compatible with Internal Driver (PSU). These lower efficacy L-Tube lamps require no rewiring of conventional fixtures. In cases of magnetic ballast, installation requires replacing existing starters with L-Tube starters. External Driver (PSU). This highly reliable, high-efficacy lamp requires the replacement of the conventional ballast with the optional external driver for L-Tube and allows for diverse input and output steps and dimming.
