Overview

SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards bridges the gap between data analysis and visual presentations, empowering users to create interactive reports and applications. The Dashboards Component SDK enables Adobe Flex developers to create, package, distribute and install add-ons for Dashboards. For more information on using the Dashboards Component SDK, see the SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards Component SDK Guide. Files installed as part of the Dashboards Component SDK The files that are installed (by default to C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Xcelsius 4.0\SDK) include: •

Packager.exe The Dashboards Add-On Packager.

AddOnMgr_CL.exe The command-line version of Add-On Manager.

bin\PropertyInspector.swf The Dashboards Default Property Sheet.

bin\xcelsiusframework.swc The Dashboards Component SDK Framework for Adobe Flex.

Overview

1.1 Install Adobe Flash Builder 4.0 Download the Adobe Flash Builder 4.0 installer, available from: http://www.adobe.com/flex. Note: For additional pre-requisites and requirements for installing Adobe Flash Builder, refer to the Adobe documentation. 1. 2. 3. 4.

Double-click the Adobe Flash Builder installer and follow the installation steps. Download the latest updates for Adobe Flash Builder. Start Adobe Flash Builder. Select Help > Software Updates > Find and install.

5. Select Search for updates of the currently installed features. 6. Click Finish. 7. Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install any available updates for Adobe Flash Builder. Adobe Flash Builder 4.0.0 or later has been installed.

1.1.1 Using Adobe Flash Builder 4 If Adobe Flash Builder 4 is used, make sure you are compiling using Flex SDK 4.0. When creating a visual component using the Dashboards Default Property Sheet, you must include additional metadata for use with the property sheet.
