Reason and Prerequisites AWS offers infrastructure services that can be utilized for deployment of SAP products. This note describes which SAP products, DB/OS combinations and AWS EC2 instance types are currently supported.
Solution For further information on AWS support prerequisites, see SAP note 1656250 (SAP on AWS: Support prerequisites). The following SAP products are supported on Amazon Web Services (AWS):
Applications running on Application Server(s) ABAP and/or Java as part of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or higher, using SAP Kernel 7.20 & 7.20 EXT: dw (SP #216, PL #216 or higher) for Linux, and dw (SP #218, PL #218 or higher) for Windows. Remark: SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation on NetWeaver (BPCNW) is thus a supported product. The following OS and RDBMS platforms are supported: o
Sybase ASE 15.7.0.013 or higher

IBM DB2 DB2 Version 9.7 or higher
o
MaxDB Version 7.8 or higher
o
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or higher
o
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 11 or higher
o
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 or higher

Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher Remark: According to note 1618590, "Oracle reserves the right to reproduce problems on native hardware", which is typically not possible in an IaaS's environment. As long as this limitation persists, the Oracle DB cannot be supported.

SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence, version 3.1 or higher, where version 4.0 FP3 or higher is preferred. The following OS, RDBMS and J2EE-server versions are supported: o
Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher

All SUSE and Red Hat linux versions that are listed in the Product Availability Matrix (PAM) for SAP BI. The PAM is available at http://www.service.sap.com/pam

All RDBMS and J2EE application server versions that are listed in the PAM for SAP BI.
The following resource requirements should be fulfilled: o
For BI version 4.0, EC2 Instance Types with a SAP performance rating of 7,400 SAPS or higher should be used.
