Leventhal Map Center, Central Library in Copley Square: 11 a.m. ‐ Travel Tuesday: Maps and Globes Join us for a special Travel Tuesday over February break. Make your own map and globe using both modern and historic maps as models, and test your geography knowledge with our giant map trivia game. BPL South Boston Branch: 11 a.m. ‐ Bilingual Concert with Mariana Iranzi. Mariana visits from New York City with a fun and interactive show for children and families. Come prepared to sing, dance, and practice your Spanish to the beat of original and some classic songs everyone will enjoy. BPL Children’s Library, Central Library in Copley: 2 p.m. ‐ Presidential Peeps. Make a fun diorama with peeps and dress them up like the presidents. Ages 5+. BPL Egleston Square Branch: 2 p.m. ‐ Sheep to Shawl with Historic New England How do we get from sheep to a warm wool sweater? Learn how clothing and other textiles were produced in Colonial times. Children read a story with a Historic New England educator, examine and card raw wool and learn how it is spun into yarn, and make a cotton ball sheep. For children ages 4‐7. BPL Faneuil Branch: 2 p.m. ‐ Wind Chime Craft Make your own wind chime. BPL Lower Mills Branch: 2 p.m. ‐ Paper Plate Samburu Necklace Drop‐in Craft Kids make a colorful necklace out of a paper plate. Crafts are appropriate for

children ages 6 and older. Large groups, please register at 617.298.7841. BPL Adams Street Branch: 2 p.m. ‐ Mad Science Presents Dry Ice Capades. This Mad Science® of Greater Boston workshop takes an exciting look at the world of dry ice through a series of interactive and fun experiments. Children will learn about the three states of matter and a lesser known phenomenon called “sublimation,” whereby a solid turns directly into a gas. Dry Ice—the star of the show—will be used in a series of tests, under the guidance of the instructor, from blowing up a balloon without air to seeing a coin “shiver.” They’ll learn the secrets behind the bubbling potions found in Mad Science’s laboratories while answering the question, “What do you think this weird ice cube can do?” Kids will be amazed by this “cool” class and will take a thermocolor changing cup home for the experiments to continue. BPL Connolly Branch: 3 p.m. ‐ CRAFTernoon with Michele Brooks. Winter‐themed crafts for ages 6 and up featuring icebergs, penguins, and polar bears. BPL Honan Allston Branch: 3 p.m. ‐ Star Wars Party. No need to travel to a galaxy far, far, away to celebrate your love of Star Wars. Come to the Honan‐ Allston Banch and take part in our festivities. We’ll search for BB‐8, make our own Star Wars‐themed craft projects, and test our Star Wars knowledge with trivia.
