SDN/NETWORK AUTOMATION COMPETITION Offered by TELUS, CENGN, and Juniper Networks Preparatory Workshop – August 12th Team Presentations – August 18th

(Student Teams will work on their solution off-premises from August 13th through August 17th)
What you will gain: Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) technology and how it impacts network architectures and services Experience in a challenging real world SDN network automation software project where you will build your own application solution Opportunity to present and demonstrate your solution to TELUS, Juniper, and 3rd party entrepreneurs Teams of 3 students will compete. There is a strict limit to the number of teams that can participate in this unique educational program.

Pre-requisite Course Work: Software Engineering (Software Planning/Design) Data Structures/Intro to Algorithmic Analysis Computer Networks (Understanding of networking) Hands-on programming course using Java, Python, Ruby, Javascript or HP Pre-requisite Skills/Background: Experience with a hi-level programming language Strong understanding of networking solutions, including MPLS/Traffic Engineering Experience with REST programming API Familiarity with SDN concepts and architecture Small project experience
Participation is open to graduate and undergraduate level students who are currently enrolled in a university. Students should have completed the pre-requisite course work and possess the noted background skills to effectively address the application exercise.
