: Leading projects, end to end

Reporting structure: Role reports to: Head of Consultancy Team members: Works alongside Senior Futures Consultants, Account Managers and Quant Manager. Management responsibility for Futures Consultants. Summary of department: Established in 2001, The Future Laboratory is a trend forecasting, bespoke research and brand innovation consultancy. We look at the niche, the different and the diverse to help clients know what is new and next in consumer thinking. The consultancy team ‘makes the future happen’. It handles all bespoke projects at The Future Laboratory delivering client futures, customer futures and trend futures. Briefs could include determining future global customer typologies, quantifying trends and consumer change in specific sectors, building brand platforms and developing future-proof strategies and innovation.

: Writing proposals from start to finish, and being an active member of the pitch team. Attending new business meetings and pitches : Drawing insights from research and articulating key findings relating to client objectives : Creating and delivering client presentations and facilitating workshops : Managing a team to ensure that members collaborate with project managers, partners, design and production to deliver on time and within budget : Client/project lead, output and communication - working with project managers to respond to client correspondence where necessary : Writing clear and inspirational content that clearly articulates (through visuals and copy) trend, customer and client futures to TFL’s standards : Communicating and promoting positive interaction between the consultancy team, TFL departments, clients and partners : Leading, managing and inspiring a team

: A good understanding of brands and consumer behaviour across a range of industries including fashion, technology, media, alcohol, food and finance : An interest in and understanding of all key channels, including product, retail, digital, advertising and brand experience : A talent for seeing the patterns behind data, and the ability to understand and explain what these patterns might mean for specific consumer groups and the companies targeting each group : Skilled at planning, performing and analysing qualitative consumer research and expert interviews : Experienced in translating strategy into innovation action points and creative briefs : Proven ability to lead, manage and inspire a team.
