Pasquale Patrizio, M.D., MBE, HCLD Dr. Patrizio is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Medical Director of the Yale Fertility Center and Reproductive Endocrinology and Associate Director Division of REI. He is board certified in OB/GYN, REI, Andrology, has a master in Bioethics and is certified as High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD). His clinical interests include: Improving the efficiency of assisted reproduction technology (ART), IVF and ICSI, Reducing the risk of multiple pregnancy and Fertility preservation for cancer patients. His translational research is devoted to understanding the basic mechanisms of fertilization and to the development of non invasive markers (in culture media and cumulus cells) to evaluate the biological competence of oocytes and embryos. He holds a patent on the use of microarray based technologies to identify genetic signatures in oocytes and cumulus cells associated with euploidy and aneuploidy. His lab has developed the methodology to freeze intact, whole human ovaries as option for fertility preservation and is currently working on the development of methods to lyophilize gametes, tissues and human embryonic stem cells (hESC). Dr.Patrizio has authored 375 publications (121 peer reviewed, 196 abstracts, 58 chapters in textbooks) and in addition has edited a popular Atlas textbook of Assisted Reproduction and two e-books (Fertility Preservation strategies for cancer patients and ART for advanced IVF training). He is associate editor of Reproductive Biomedicine on line and Journal Assisted Reproductive and Genetics and serves on the editorial board of Fertil. Steril. AJOG, JECAR and www.IVF-worldwide.com. He is the Vice President elect of the International Society for Fertiilty Preservation (ISFP) and Vice President of the Regenerative Medicine special interest group for ASRM.
