REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais is one of just three European companies to manage both very high-voltage electricity and high-pressure natural-gas grids. Our mission is to ensure a continuous supply of electricity and natural gas at the lowest cost, while satisfying quality, safety and security criteria, maintaining a real time balance between supply and demand, and providing the systemic conditionsfor a viable energy market. REN operates in Portugal since 1994. Number of local Employees: 676. Q: Tell us about your company’s involvement in social responsibility and how your company and/or the community has benefited. REN is a benchmark in supplying and guaranteeing access to energy. It does so sustainably and responsibly, protecting the environment and fostering development and overall wellbeing. REN’s sustainability policy is based on three essential pillars: First, developing a close and trustful relationship with its stakeholders while guaranteeing the safety, reliability and quality of the supply of electricity and natural gas. Secondly, REN is concerned about wellbeing within the company. It abides by best employee-management practices and promotes diversity, equal opportunities and is very committed to provide healthy, safe and confortable work conditions to all that work in the company. Finally, REN has a long history of protecting the environment. It has been recognised as an environmentally responsible company because of our constant focus on following the best environmental management practices and determination on playing an active role in climate change prevention.
