Makutsi Tented Camp

The Walking Safari Package is a perfect mix of 4 nights at Makutsi Main Camp and a 2 night sleep out at Makutsi Tented Camp. Tented Camp offers accommodation in very comfortable and luxurious tents with en suite bathroom, hot and cold water, private deck and a thatch roof covering the tents. From Tented Camp walking safaris are conducted with a great opportunity to see Giraffe, Rhino, Zebra and Cheetah on foot as well as the smaller things one often misses when on a vehicle. This is a perfect safari for younger couples (eg. Honeymooners), who want a change and adventure during their stay at Makutsi, as well as anybody interested in the finer details of the African Nature. Itinerary Day 1: Fly Australia – Johannesburg. Fly Australia to Johannesburg. Transfer to hotel. Accommodation: Peermont Metcourt Hotel, Johannesburg – 1 night.

Day 2: Johannesburg to Hoedspruit. Fly Johannesburg to Hoedspruit. Transfer to Makutsi Safari Springs Main Camp. Relax by the pool or visit the Hippo Hide.

Accommodation: Makutsi Safari Springs Main Camp – 2 nights

Day 3: Makutsi Safari Main Camp. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Main Camp. Early afternoon game drive in search of giraffe, rhino, zebra, lion, elephant, kudu, hippo and leopard. Around sunset, enjoy light snacks and drinks then continue the game drive in search of the various nocturnal animals. Return to main camp for dinner. (B,D)

Day 4: Makutsi Tented Camp. Enjoy an early morning game drive. Depart this afternoon for a short game drive en route to Makutsi Tented Camp. After settling in, it’s time for a short walking safari.

Several stops are made along the way to visit some of the famous sites including Bourke’s Luck Potholes; Three Rondavels Viewpoint overlooking the Blyde Dam.
