Journalist, Athletics Illustrated editor, announcer, meet organizer, coach; there are few things that Chris Kelsall doesn’t do well. He brings his vast experience as a running insider to the role of panel moderator. A two-time Olympian in the marathon event, Bruce Deacon represented Canada at the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games. He is a three time TC10k Champion, and placed second as a master at the Boston Marathon. Bruce is the TC10K online coach, and has been the GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon online coach for the past 8 years. You can find him running on local trails or coaching the Prairie Inn Harriers Youth Team.

Irishman Paul O’Callaghan competed in six World Cross Country Championships, qualified for the Olympics and represented Ireland from 1982 to 2003 on the road, track and in cross country. In 2006 he smashed the Irish Master’s 10, 000m record with a time of 30:38. That year, Paul emigrated to the west coast of Canada to Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island. He is a successful coach and popular race announcer. Marilyn Arsenault is a competitive runner, mentor and coach. Considered a late arrival to the world of competitive long-distance running, she’s since forged the kind of success most lifetime runners can only dream about. She’s proudly represented Canada at the national and international levels and has taken home championship titles on all surfaces: track, road and crosscountry. Now in her 40’s, she continues to challenge the record books and to reshape perceptions of what Masters athletes can achieve. Hailing from Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Kelly Wiebe has emerged as one of Canada’s most promising young distance runners. He represented Canada at the 2011, 2013 and 2015 World Cross Country Championships with a best placing of 50th. Kelly has won some of the more prestigious road races in Canada including the 2012 Sun Run and the 2013 GoodLife Fitness Half Marathon. Dr. Jaime de Melo is a Naturopathic Doctor and educator in Victoria BC. In his family practice at Acacia Integrative Health he helps patients of all ages with a wide range of health concerns, but has a special interest in disorders that affect digestive and respiratory health. Jaime holds faculty positions at both the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and Pacific Rim College in Victoria, where he teaches Anatomy and Physiology. He enjoys discussing anatomy, physiology, nutrition and health any chance he gets. Mena Westhaver is the coach and founder of the Sole Sisters, a running and walking club for almost 300 Greater Victoria women. A certified fitness leader, programmer with Saanich Recreation, and power skating coach, Mena knows how to bring the best out of athletes of all abilities. Zeke Cabell has a degree in kinesiology from the UVic and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He is a successful coach and popular race announcer. Dr. Paddy McCluskey is one of Victoria’s leading sports medicine doctors. He is the GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon Medical Director, and the Athletics Canada Team Physician for the National Middle Distance Centre. Paddy’s understanding of running injuries and ailments comes from years of experience as a doctor and runner. He has represented Canada multiple times at the World Cross Country Championships. Dr. Rob Hasegawa has been in practice since 1992 and has a general family practice with a specific interest in sports injury prevention and management, as well as performance optimization. His clients range from kids to seniors, recreational athletes to World Champions and Olympic Gold Medalists. He has traveled internationally to provide his therapeutic services at World Cup Events, numerous World Championships, and the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympic Games with the Canadian National Triathlon Team. Patricia Roney (Physio)
has also been an avid competitive endurance athlete for 30 years. He has competed at the Boston Marathon, New York City Marathon, and 2 World Triathlon Championships. He has a marathon best of 2:41, a 10k best of 32:20, and an Ironman best of 9:38. Now as a masters athlete, he has modified his training and goals to keep things attainable and sustainable. Patricia is a physiotherapist currently working with RebalanceMD and Fix Health Care. She comes from a running background having competed as a varsity track and cross-country runner for both Queen’s University and the University of Victoria. Following her Master’s degree, she worked as the assistant coach for the running program at Queen’s University. Patricia’s passion for the sport has led her to work as a physiotherapist with the Canadian Youth and Junior teams at the World Track and Field Championships in 2013 and 2014.
