Special Briefing on Upcoming FAA Reauthorization for Louisiana Members On Thursday, January 14th at 9am there will be a special briefing for the aviation business community concerning the upcoming FAA reauthorization legislation. The briefing will be held at Landmark Aviation’s facility at Lakefront Airport in New Orleans. As you may know, the House of Representatives is giving serious consideration to creating a user-fee funded air traffic control corporation that would be governed by a board of directors populated by industry insiders. While NATA agrees the FAA could certainly stand the injection of more private sector practices, it is gravely concerned by the unknowns associated with corporatization — particularly to aviation businesses. Additional background on the situation is available here. The briefing will be conducted by Richard Doubrava from NBAA. Please be assured the aviation business community is closely aligned with its customers on this important issue and your outreach to the Louisiana congressional delegation would be a great help to the entire general aviation community.
