Juniors: Prepare for your last year of high school. Your final year of high school is fast approaching. Are you ready? You should finish your junior year with at least 18 credits. You need a total of 24 credits to graduate. You must pass the SBA ELA and SBA Math. If you aren’t sure where you are towards graduation, go see your counselor. In your senior year, you will begin to apply for college, tech schools, military or scholarships. Plan ahead by having some details on hand. For example work experience, volunteer experience and school club/sport participation. You will need letters of recommendation. Think about who you can ask to write you one. You should give your recommender at least 2 weeks notice to write you a letter. If you plan to apply to a four year college or university then you will have to take the SAT or ACT. You can take either multiple times.

Sophomores and Juniors Strong Families Parenting Classes, Yakima, April 12-May 24 This free 6-week parent training program focuses on strengthening families and communities and is open to parents with children of any age. Participants will receive a free parent handbook and plenty of support from the two course facilitators and fellow parent participants. Strong Families consists of 13 three-hour sessions.
