Welcome to Stockport Museums Visit our seven museums, enjoy our interactive and exciting galleries brimming with all kinds of everything - object treasures, arts, fascinating stories and great exhibitions. Stockport Museum’s latest exhibition, Strawberry Studios, I Am In Love, is now open. Founded in 1967, Strawberry Studios is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Home to 10cc, it became one of the first professional recording studios outside London, and was the studio of choice for numerous artists and producers. This edition is full of family fun, activities for all ages and inspiring specialist courses. Take a moment to explore all that Stockport Museums have to offer! We look forward to seeing you this Spring.

Air Raid Shelters Stockport’s intriguing network of underground tunnels offers visitors unparalleled insight into life in 1940s wartime Britain. When the Shelters opened in 1939, with room for 3,850 people, they were the largest purpose-built civilian shelters in the country. An audio-guide, information panels and authentically recreated settings illustrate the thoroughness of Stockport’s air raid precautions for life on the home front.

Bramall Hall Bramall Hall is one of England’s most striking black and white timber-framed buildings. Set in 70 acres of parkland, this magnificent house has witnessed 7 centuries of colourful history from Medieval beginnings to the present day. The hall has undergone a £2 million restoration project with dramatic improvements to the historic rooms, architecture and fabric of the building. Please note that only rooms on the ground floor are accessible for wheelchairs. Rooms on the first floor can only be reached by a staircase.
Daily Activities Activity Boxes Find and open our 4 themed activity boxes. Inside you will find lots of things to do like story books and a play sack full of sensory equipment suitable for babies and toddlers. Activities and games for the under 5s, older children and their adults. Explorer Trails Take one of our family trails to guide you round the hall. Meet characters who lived here in the past, find out what life would have been like and discover some of the Hall’s secrets. Discovery Packs Containing binoculars, viewers, magnifying glasses, torches, a mirror and activity sheet, these packs will help you to discover all there is to see in the Hall.
