Research Insight: How do I find recordings which have the same emotional impact as The Stone Roses, but can more easily be cleared for internet, film and foreign distribution channels? There are several ways of looking at this. The researcher will need to form a view on the origin of the band (Manchester), time period (80s-90s), genre eg. Guitar rock, promotional style eg word of mouth discovery as opposed to commercial hype and record company promotion. The user will also need to have a general idea of which bands are more expensive to clear. Here is a chart from the week they first entered, at position 32.
