ANESU Strategic Planning Update January 25, 2017 Work We Have Accomplished Earlier this year a subcommittee of the ANESU Board used information from the ANESU Ends policy along with input and feedback from hundreds of faculty, staff, students and community members to develop a vision statement for ANESU. In addition, this subcommittee made minor changes to the preamble of the Ends policy to create a mission statement. The Ends policy language remains unchanged. Following this work, the Executive Committee of the ANESU Board officially adopted the vision and mission statements. With our vision, mission and Ends in place the next phase of our strategic planning process is ready to begin. Work We Are Currently Engaged In Currently, the ANESU leadership team, comprised of ANESU school and central office administrators, is using input gathered from faculty and staff on opening day, RBO documents, and the ANESU vision, mission and Ends to create three or four goal statements. These goal statements will form the foundation for creating action teams charged with developing a plan to realize these goals. Once drafted, these goal statements will be shared with various constituent groups for feedback. A second draft of these goal statements will then be submitted to the Strategic Plan Steering Committee for adoption. Work That is Forthcoming Establishing the vision, mission and Ends is the responsibility of the Board. Realizing the vision, mission and Ends is the responsibility of the Superintendent. To that end, I am reaching out to faculty, staff, students and our five-town community with a desire to Shape Our Future Together. Soon, you will all have an opportunity to provide feedback on the goals created by the ANESU leadership team. As mentioned earlier, a second draft of these goals will be submitted to the Strategic Plan Steering Committee. Once these goals are adopted by the Strategic Plan Steering Committee, work will begin to create Action Teams. One Action Team will be created for each goal. Action Teams will be responsible for developing a series of objectives related to the goal they are focused on. Each objective will have a series of actions steps with a timeline and metrics for checking progress throughout the plan. Together, the goals, objectives, action steps, timeline and metrics are the heart of what will be the ANESU Strategic Plan.
