Students, Welcome to your Pearson MyLab and Mastering course! This course is delivered inside Blackboard Learn at your college. The first time you access your MyLab and  Mastering course, you need to sign in to Pearson and create an account. After the first time, you do not need  to sign in to Pearson to work in your course.    To access your course, you need the following:   A Blackboard account.   A Pearson account. If you do not already have a Pearson account, you are asked to create one on the  registration page when you click a MyLab and Mastering link in your course.   An access code for your MyLab or Mastering product. Alternatively, you can purchase access with a  credit card or PayPal account or opt to get temporary access for 17 days without payment (if available  for your course) while awaiting Student Financial Aid. *Please refer to your Pearson MyLab / Mastering  Student User Guide for more information.    To sign in for the first time:  1. Sign in to your Blackboard Learn and enter your course.  2. Click any of the MyLab / Mastering links to open the Pearson Registration page.   3. On the Sign In page, you can sign in with your existing Pearson Username and Password if applicable. If  you don’t already have a Pearson account, click the Create an account button.  4. If you choose to create an account, enter the required fields (email, desired username and password,  first and last name, and security question and answer).   5. Choose an access option:   Use an access code (came with your new book) by clicking Access Code   Purchase access if you don’t have an access kit/code using credit card or PayPal account by  clicking on the price button under your choice: access with eText or access without eText.    Or choose temporary access by clicking the Get Temporary Access without payment for 17  days link at the bottom of the page (if applicable).  6. A Confirmation and Summary page displays, indicating your registration is successful! This information  will also be emailed to you.     To access your Pearson course through Blackboard Learn:  1. From the Blackboard Learn Courses tab, click your course link.  2. From the left navigation bar, click any content area to locate Pearson links.  3. Click any Pearson link to access items such as homework, tests, study plan or your MyLab / Mastering  home page.

Get Started for Students in MyLab and Mastering for Blackboard Learn Welcome Welcome to your Pearson MyLab and Mastering course. This course is delivered inside Blackboard Learn at your college. The first time you access your MyLab and Mastering course, you need to sign in to Pearson and create an account. After the first time, you do not need to sign in to Pearson to work in your course. Your instructor will direct you to the MyLab and Mastering links in Blackboard Learn to get you started. Requirements There are some requirements to be able to access your Pearson MyLab and Mastering course. To access your course, you need the following:  A Blackboard account. 



A Pearson account. If you do not already have a Pearson account, you are asked to create one on the registration page when you click a MyLab and Mastering link in your course. An access code for your MyLab or Mastering product. Alternatively, you can purchase access with a credit card when you register.

Note: In most cases, you can get temporary access to MyLab and Mastering for up to 17 days when you register through your Blackboard Learn course. If temporary access is available, you will see a link for Temporary Access on the same page as the Access Code option. If you are enrolled in more than one Blackboard Learn course, you need to sign in once to each course and register with your access code or pay for each course.

First sign-in After you have signed in to your Blackboard Learn course, you will see links to your MyLab and Mastering course. Click any of the links to sign in to your course or create a Pearson account, if necessary. The Register page appears. After you have registered, you can access your course without signing in to MyLab and Mastering again. To sign in for the first time: 1. Sign in to Blackboard Learn and enter your course. 2. Find any MyLab and Mastering link (not the Help or Get Started links). These links can be on the course’s MyLab and Mastering Tools page or in the Content areas of your course. Ask your instructor for help if you have trouble finding them. 3. Click the link. The Register page appears:

4. If you already have a Pearson account, enter your username and password. The name of the MyLab and Mastering course is shown on the right side of this page. Note that this is the Pearson name for your MyLab and Mastering course and may not be the same as the Blackboard Learn course name. 5. If you do not have a Pearson account, create an account by clicking Create.

Register and pay for your course After you have signed in to MyLab and Mastering, the Select an Option page asks you how you want to pay for your course.

You can pay in one of these ways:  Click Access Code to go to a page where you can enter your access code. This code comes with your textbook or may be provided in a separate kit. When the Access Code page appears, enter the access code.





If you don't have an access code, on the Select an Option page, click the green button showing the price to pay. You can pay directly using a credit card or PayPal, depending on your textbook. If you are not ready to pay at this time, click Get temporary access without payment for 17 days at the bottom of the Select an Option page to get temporary access if you're waiting for financial aid. After 17 days, you will need to either pay with a credit card or enter an access code.

Registration Complete After your registration is complete, you see the confirmation page and get a confirmation email. You are ready to start working in your MyLab and Mastering course.

Access your Pearson course through Blackboard Learn After you have registered, you can access your Pearson course through the links in Blackboard Learn. These links may appear in course content areas as well as within the MyLab and Mastering tools area. To access links in your course tools area: 1. From the Blackboard Learn Courses tab, click your course link. 2. From the left navigation bar, click Tools.

3. Click Pearson's MyLab / Mastering. Your Tools page appears.

4. The first link on the Tools page takes you to your MyLab and Mastering course home page. The Tools page also contains links to a number of support tools that you can use. The links on this page vary depending on your course. To access links from the left menu: 1. Open your Blackboard Learn course. 2. In the left navigation bar, click any content area. If you are not sure what content areas are or where Pearson links are placed, ask your instructor. 3. Find a link with this icon:

4. Click the link. The page, such as Homework, Tests, or Study Plan, will open in a new window or tab in your browser. 5. Click the Course Home link to open your MyLab and Mastering home page, which lets you access all the pages in your online course.

Getting more help The top right corner of the MyLab and Mastering courses page provides links to: 





Account — Enables you to manage your Pearson account by editing your personal information. Help & Support — Opens a page with links to online Student Help and other support resources. Sign Out — Ends your Pearson session. Signing out prevents the next user of the computer from accessing your MyLab and Mastering course. This does not sign you out of your Blackboard course.

Note: If you call Pearson Support, you can shorten the process by telling them you are using MyLab and Mastering for Blackboard Learn.
