Career Exploration Summer Camp Information Sheet June 13-17, June 20-24 & June 27-July 1st 2016 Welcome to our Career Exploration Summer Camp! Our experienced counselors have planned a fun, educational and exciting week for your child. We hope your child will enjoy the experience and come away with a greater motivation to begin thinking about and planning for their future career. WHEN: There will be three separate one week camps that will run from approximately 8:45 AM - 12:45 PM daily. The dates and counties are listed below. June 13-17, 2016 for Caroline County, Fredericksburg Christian School June 20-24, 2016 for Fredericksburg City, King George, and Spotsylvania County Public Schools June 27-July 1, 2016 for Culpeper, Madison, and Orange County Public Schools WHERE: Eastern Region’s Camps: Week 1: June 13-17, Week 2: June 20-24 Germanna Community College: Fredericksburg Area Campus 10000 Germanna Point Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 Western Region’s Camp: Week 3: June 27-July 1 Germanna Community College: Daniel Technology Center 18121 Technology Drive, Culpeper, VA 22701 DROP OFF: Most students will be bused and busing information will be supplied by your child’s school. Students who will be dropped off by a parent will be escorted by Camp Staff to the appropriate room. Camp activities will begin each day in a specified room. Counselors will be present on the first two days to guide students and parents. Children will be escorted safely from class to class throughout the week. ABSENCE: Parents are asked to call Steven Christian (summer camp coordinator) at 540-423-9131 between 8-9 AM each day that your child will be absent. You may leave a message. DRESS: Your student should be dressed in appropriate school attire. We will be visiting work sites later in the week which will not permit students on site if they are wearing tank tops, loose clothing or sandals. SNACK & LUNCH: Students will receive a snack and lunch daily. Supervision is provided during lunch. If your child has a special dietary need, please provide that information on the medical form. PICK UP: Students will be escorted to the front of the building for at the end of each day. We ask that you pick up your child between 12:45 PM and 1:00 PM. If you have made arrangements for your child to car pool, you MUST indicate the name of the person transporting your child on the application form. Your child will not be released to anyone not listed. A photo ID is required. In the event of an emergency, and you are delayed after 1:00 PM, your child will be awaiting your arrival with a member from the Camp Staff. PICNIC: Our camp ends with a picnic at 12:45 PM on Friday. You are encouraged to attend and share lunch with your child as well as hear your child relate some of his/her experiences from camp. If you do not choose to attend the picnic, your child will be waiting for your arrival with a member of the Camp Staff at the front of the campus until approximately 1:15 PM.
