3 PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Dear Members: We are very excited to introduce the Skyline Country Club Clubster app! This app will allow you to be connected instantly to the club, other members, and the event calendar using your mobile device or computer. Many of you may have questions, and wonder what the benefit of Clubster is and how that will affect our current communication. We would like to address some possible questions. What is Clubster? “Clubster is the first mobile communication social network designed exclusively for members of private clubs. As a Clubster, you instantly have a real-time social connection with the club, your fellow club members and the club staff through your computer, iPhone, Android, iPad or Tablet.” Why the change to the Clubster app? As the Skyline Events calendar gets busier and busier, the staff would like to communicate to the membership more efficiently. In return, this will allow you to plan better, build relationships, and connect to other members with common interests. Master Club Calendar – One calendar of events including Golf groups and outings, Tennis and Pickleball, Wine Dinners, Member Community Event, etc. … Club Groups – Pre-established club groups have been loaded into Clubster for you to explore and join. Private Groups - Set up your own private group to communicate meetings and changes more efficiently. Connect to Friends - Find out who is going to an event or Happy Hour on your phone or by Clubster e-mail. RSVP to Activities - Say “yes” to club group activities like Swingers Golf, Nine and Dine Golf, Tennis Open Houses, and more. New Member Announcements – Get to know about your new members when they join, pictures will be included when available. What will happen to the My Club communications? Better Targeted Communications – My Club will still be used for all important Club announcements. Event Announcements – Normal club events will be sent out through My Club, Clubster and the Newsletter. We understand that there will be more questions about Clubster and how it will affect you and your family. “Understanding Clubster” classes will be scheduled this summer to get you acclimated to this useful app. Not in town, not a problem we can send you the link to learn about Clubster. We hope that you will enjoy being more connected to the Club. We are looking forward to communicating with you more efficiently.

his has been a great winter for the club. Member participation is up and we are seeing more and more new faces join the Skyline family. Over the past few months SCC members have been able to enjoy a variety of social events ranging from our traditional Lobster and Wine dinners to a new event our Derby Party. Please take the time to review our newsletter and weekly emails for any upcoming events. We plan to keep up the pace heading into the summer for all of the members that call Tucson their home 12 months out of the year. You may have seen a slight change to our traditional Terrace Dining structure. We have removed the salad stroll and replaced it with a la carte salads and appetizers. This was in response to many members stating that the price point of $22.00 was too much for the amount of food that they were able to enjoy. Over the years we as a club also saw a significant decline in participation that in turn creates a higher cost to the club for the event. We were still able to keep the all you can eat pasta bar, live action grill and dessert buffet. Please take advantage of these nights over the summer. Over the next few weeks we will be installing another Nana Wall in The Top. This will mirror the one that is located on the west side of the room heading out to the patio. These retracting walls add a certain level of ambiance and also create the open air bar concept that we are looking for. We have the best view in Tucson and these details only help us attract new members and also give our existing members a sense of pride in their club. We hope to see you throughout the summer! ello everyone. Great things are happening here at skyline, one of them being our new menu. The menu debuted in the beginning of May and is being well received. There are many fresh, contemporary items to choose from. Great summer fare is upon us as well. I can’t wait for our 4th of July Celebration. Great American food, family, and fireworks. Amazing things are happening all summer long here at skyline. With all the great food we need a refreshing drink. Here is a recipe for a delicious White Sangria. Pretty soon, when the curtain rises for the fall season, we will enter the year of Shakespeare! We will celebrate the 400th anniversary of the bard’s death and the fact that his plays are alive and continue to fascinate audiences all over the world. The University of Arizona Repertory Theatre is gearing up for two Shakespeare productions. I hope you will join the Skyline Playgoers for dinner and “The Comedy of Errors” on March 24, 2016 and “The Tempest” on March 31, 2016. However, if Shakespeare is not quite your taste, there are other tempting plays on the University schedule, i.e. “Cabaret” (October 29, 2015); “Reckless” (November 19, 2015) and “Rent” (April 21, 2016). Did you know that The Rogue Theatre also celebrates the Shakespeare anniversary? Rogue actors quite often teach and/or act in University Repertory Theatre productions. To celebrate Shakespeare, The Rogue Theatre will present “Hamlet” and “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern” in tandem. Both theatres and the entire community will benefit from the display of one of the original Shakespeare Folios that will travel to Tucson and be displayed at the University’s Special Collections Library. But that comes later. Right now, the Skyline Playgoers wish all of you a pleasant summer until we see you again in September. Kate Phillips and Sue Richard.

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB by Ellen Fisher he Skyline Country Club Camera Club ended a successful year at its annual photo show on April 10. Eight members exhibited photographs that will be on display in the card room until fall. We have already begun to plan meetings for next year. The camera club meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 3:00. Our activities will include photo shoots, demonstrations, slide shows, camera instruction, and editing. One speaker next season will explain an unusual way to create art through photography. The club includes those who haven’t figured out how to use all the features of their camera (that’s most of us) to professional photographers. Keep your shutters limbered up this summer. We will share the results in the fall and learn some new tricks as well.
