August 2, 2016
As I begin my tenth year as Superintendent of Schools for SAU 67, I am excited to welcome you to a new academic year. We are continuing to implement our vision of Caring for each individual every day, Focusing on learning, and Teaching to touch the future. We are continuing to move toward competency based education and are starting to look at how that will change our assessment and grade reporting. We are growing our 1:1 computing environment and adjusting to how student Chromebooks are changing our instructional practices. And, we are continuing to look at how to serve all of our diverse students by using Universal Design for Learning to help us individualize and personalize school for our students.
Our communities can be proud of the educational program. We continue to use data to inform both individual and collective decision making. We are updating our strategic plan and are publishing our electronic magazine called Praxis which communicate the achievement of the system by examining standardized test scores like the SBAC and the SAT, community input using the Panorama surveys and also highlights results of locally developed assessments. These reports are available on the SAU 67 home page https://sites.google.com/a/bownet.org/sau67/about/Home
I am excited by the energy and enthusiasm at SAU 67. We are experiencing transition in leadership and welcome Heidi Pauer and Tim Girzone as administrators at BHS. Our administrative team is working to keep our eyes on the big picture while serving our communities more efficiently and effectively. We continue to improve our schools, and we continue to have very supportive communities.
I encourage you to call or e-mail me or contact administrators with any concerns, comments, or questions.
