Course Description This is a very basic course in Trigonometry. We will begin by reviewing certain basic algebraic concepts, such as the coordinate plane, distance, graphs of equations, and functions. The trigonometric functions will then be introduced using the unit circle along with their basic properties. We will continue with Inverse Trigonometric functions and their basic identities, followed by their relation to triangles and the laws of sine and cosines. Polar Coordinates will be treated near the end of the course, time permitting. The material corresponds to Chapters 1-5, though not all material in these chapters will be covered. Competency with basic algebraic concepts and calculations (as covered in High School or in a “College Algebra” Course) is expected, though certain aspects will be reviewed. 3. Course Assessment We will be using MyMathlab for homework and tests. Course Name: TrigonometrySpring2014 Course ID: grynkiewcz34217 Grading for the course will be based upon regular homework assignments, several quizzes/midterms and a final exam according to the following formula: Regular Homework Assignments 10% In-Semester Quizzes/Midterms 40% Final Exam 50%
