VOLUNTEER INFO SHEET Volunteering at the Birmingham Classic is your chance to play a pivotal role in delivering a major international tennis tournament. You’ll get to do so as part of a super friendly team and watch the world’s best female players in action at the beautiful Edgbaston Priory Club. We are counting on our volunteer team to be the friendly face of the tournament and ensure everyone who attends the Classic has an experience they’ll never forget. We have a number of front-line roles on offer (see p.2), all of which rely on you creating a positive, welcoming atmosphere around the venue and being on hand to help those in need. In return, we promise you a really fun and rewarding volunteering experience. For example, we’ll give you a different role or location to cover each shift, so that every day on site is exciting and different. Likewise we will mix up who you work alongside each day, so that you get to meet lots of the 130 other volunteers at the event. We pride ourselves on having a very sociable and committed team - it’s a big reason why people love volunteering at the Classic so much! You’ll also get a great package of exclusive ‘benefits’ too (see p.3). The best of these is the volunteer seating area on Centre Court, where you’ll get to watch an incredible lineup compete on one of the best grass courts in the world. Already confirmed to appear are Great Britain’s Johanna Konta and two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, with more superstars set to be announced soon. We’ll also provide you with a high-quality uniform, offers on tickets, a private rest area, pre-event training and links to further volunteering opportunities. And don’t just take our word for it that you’ll have an amazing time. The 2017 volunteer team (pictured below) rated their overall experience as 9.4 out of 10, with 94% saying they definitely wanted to volunteer again in 2018. This year we’re aiming for a perfect 10! You don’t have to be a tennis expert or seasoned volunteer to get involved. We’re simply after people with lots of enthusiasm, plenty of dedication and a passion for helping others. So if you’d like to be part of something special this summer, continue reading below and apply today!
