Smt Taro Devi, daughter of late Shri Shankar Dass, was born in 1948 at Jammu. She had only one sister. Her father was a businessman having his own karyana shop. She had no formal education. She got married to Shri Dev Raj Gupta son of late Shri Badri Nath Gupta resident of Purkhoo, Jammu. Her husband was also a shopkeeper. The family shifted to Old Rehari, Jammu to closely monitor the business and expand it. She had five sons who completed their 10th class and joined the business. They all are businessmen and well settled. She was a religious lady and quite regular in her Poojapath. She was a staunch devotee of Mata Vaishno Devi and had visited the holy shrine number of times. She donated liberally to the poor and needy people. She breathed her last on 6th August, 2013 after a brief ailment. She is survived by her husband and five sons. May God give peace to the departed soul courage to the family members to bear this irreparable loss.

Suicide attack on policeman's funeral in Quetta kills 38 AGENCY
ISLAMABAD: Thirty-eight people, including three top police officers, were killed and more than 50 injured when a suicide bomber targeted the funeral of a slain policeman in Quetta city of southwest Pakistan Thursday. The bomber struck as some 300 people, including top police officers of Balochistan province, were attending the funeral of police station chief Mohib Ullah, who was gunned down this morning. The attacker detonated his explosive vest when he was stopped by guards at the gate of a mosque within the Police Lines in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan. "It was a suicide attack and
the attacker blew himself up at the entrance where he was intercepted by policemen on duty," city police chief Mir Zubair Mehmood said. Senior police officials said 38 people were killed and 50 others, mostly policemen, injured. Deputy Inspector General of Police Fayyaz Sumbol, Superintendent of Police Ali Mahar and Deputy Superintendent of Police Shams?ur-Rehman were among the dead. Balochistan police chief Mushtaq Sukhera said 21 policemen died in the attack. "It is a major attack on police and at least eight kilograms of explosives were used in the suicide attack," Mehmood said.
The provincial police chief and city police chief had a narrow escape. The bomber carried out the strike despite extensive security arrangements within the Police Lines. The victims were taken to a military hospital due to fears that civilian hospitals might be attacked. After a recent bombing at a women's university in Quetta, militants attacked the hospital where the injured were taken. The number of casualties in the attack is expected to rise as some of the injured were critical, doctors said. JAMMU : Rail traffic between Jammu and Udhampur continued to remain affected after a portion of a tunnel was damaged due to falling boulders and garbage, with Railways seeking state government's help to stop recurrence of such incident. The mishap, yesterday, also led to the damage of tracks between Ramnagar and Manwal near Udhampur, forcing cancellation of services.
Trackman Arvind Kumar Pandey, who was deployed for patrolling of the tunnel, noticed the falling garbage and boulders over the tunnel and immediately alerted driver of a passenger train coming from Udhampur towards Jammu Tawi. "The track was disturbed due to sudden breakage of road above and about 1,200 cubic metre of garbage which was dumped near the road above," said a Northern Railway release on Thursday.
Officials said the landslide occurred due to continuous seepage and obstruction to flow of water by the dumped garbage along the road-side. About 20-metre of the tunnel was damaged. Traffic has remained affected since 7.30 am yesterday following the incident and senior railway officers including principal chief engineer of Northern Railway and divisional railway manager of Firozepur are personally monitoring the restoration work, the
