General Information Welcome to the AA This is the Events List – the weekly printed calendar of events at the AA, also accessible at aaschool.ac.uk. It will be emailed weekly to you during term time, and printed copies can be found at reception. For further details about all aspects of the AA please refer to the Student Handbook and download the AA app. If you are new to London, the first thing you should buy is the A–Z Street Directory, which is available from most newsagents and bookshops. For a wide selection of events and entertainment, look for the free weekly Time Out (available on Tuesdays outside most tube stations), which covers everything from accommodation to restaurants. You can also find second-hand household items by visiting loot.com, gumtree.com or ebay.co.uk. For free items, try freecycle.org. Students are advised to insure their computers and other equipment as the AA’s insurance does not cover personal items in case of theft or an accident. AA Membership Card and Login Details As a student of the AA, you are automatically also an AA Member. If you have no fees or essential documents outstanding, your AA membership card, email account and computer login details will be ready for you to collect from the membership desk at registration on Tuesday 24 September. Otherwise, if your registration is delayed for any reason, please collect these from the Membership Office in 33 Bedford Square, after you have completed your registration, anytime between 10am and 6pm from Wednesday 25 September. Your membership card functions as a door card to gain access to the various AA premises, it is your library card, your printing and photocopy card, and it also works as a cash card for payments in the bar, materials shop and bookshop. Top-up stations are located in the Hub, the Membership Office and outside Accounts. If you lose your card, a replacement can be purchased from the Membership Office at a cost of £10, and any funds held in your lost card will be automatically transferred to your new card within 24 hours. If you have any problem with your card, please go to the Membership Office. For any issues regarding your AA email account or login details please speak to staff in the Computer Room.
International Student Identity Cards The cost of this card is included in the AA Student Forum fee. Cards will be ordered once a comprehensive list of all 2013/14 registered students is made. A notice will appear in the Events List when the cards arrive. They will be available for collection from the Admissions Office. AA Bookshop and AA Publications Opening hours 10am–6.30pm Monday to Friday; 11am–5pm Saturday. Situated at 32 Bedford Square, the AA Bookshop is one of London’s leading specialist architecture bookshops.
