Term Project Create Your Own Country Part One—Physical Map--During this term project you will be creating your own country. Each week from now until the end of the term the home work will help you to finish your project on time. There will be three parts that take two weeks each. Part one is a Physical Map. You will need to create a physical map of your country. For week one you will need create a rough draft, for week two it will be a finished draft. You will need to include the following: at least 15 landforms (use the landforms link for suggestions), water (rivers, lakes, oceans, and seas), at least 10 natural resources (coal, natural gas, minerals, bananas, etc…), and a colored elevation key. For the rough draft you will need a list of your landforms and natural resources as well as rough sketch of your country. Your final draft will need to have everything placed neatly on your map. You will be graded as follows: Rough draft (including a sketch of country and list of landforms and resources) 25 pts Final draft Neatness (rough draft doesn’t need to be colored or be up to final quality—final draft does—10 pts Use of landforms(at least 15) 30 pts Use of water (rivers, lakes, seas, oceans) 10 pts Use of natural resources (at least 10) 10 pts Colored Elevation Key 10 pts Creativity 5pts Total for Part One Physical Map –100pts Extra Credit—You may do one or all of the following—the more you do the more points you will earn. List--Elevation of specific peaks in mountain range; Art--Draw a scenic picture of your country; Creative Writing—Make a story about your country
