The world is full of brilliant people who have awesome ideas to share, but unfortunately some of their ideas are never shared for various reasons. A website is the most efficient way for a person to share their ideas, but they are unable to develop a website due to lack of computer skills or lack of funds to pay a web designer to create one for them. Thankfully, there are resources like the 12 HR WordPress. I have personally created numerous websites for clients using the WordPress platform. I started out just like you; I had very little experience with web design. After many unsuccessful attempts using complex coding and $500 programs that just sat on my hard drive, I discovered WordPress. I was ecstatic, but creating a website using WordPress wasn't as easy as everyone made it seem. I decided to teach myself how to use the WordPress platform over the course of a week. Once I became pretty good at it, I started doing websites for my friends, and eventually clients. I currently charge $500$1500 USD per site. Now it only takes me a weekend to create a website with the WordPress platform. We would like to share our knowledge with you, so that you too can start making websites for yourself and potential clients. The 12 hour WordPress course will show you how to make a WordPress website from start to finish, from domain registration to your first blog post. Goodbye with the excuses to why you can't start that blog, or sell that product you always wanted to. By the end of this course you will have a fully functional website and will no longer be considered a novice.

User Friendly WordPress is one of the most popular content management, and blog publishing, applications available on the web today. It was first released in 2003 by developer Matt Mullenweg. WordPress has developed into a fullfeatured, fully customizable website creation tool used by millions of individuals, businesses, and organizations around the world. The interface is user friendly so that even the most technologically challenged people can create a website. It is also popular because of its template system, customizable functionality, and search engine friendly structure. Click here for a list of popular WordPress sites.

Since WordPress is open sourced in nature, the code can be changed to create anything a coder can think up. Plugins, themes, and widgets are designed by developers and shared with the WordPress community.

There are thousands of theme templates you can use with WordPress. If you do not like the free templates you can pay for a fully functional premium themes. Based on previously mentioned reasons, among others, WordPress is the platform to use if you are currently a novice at creating websites. Let’s get you started!

If your theme is widget enabled (usually you can tell in documentation), you can customize what goes into your side bars. To add your widget, you can drag and drop it into the side bar. A lot of widgets are compatible to many themes. You can edit your widgets by clicking on “Appearance” in the side menu. The “Widgets” screen pops up.

Generally, a plugin is a program, or a set of one or more functions written in the PHP scripting language, which can be seamlessly integrated within your blog. What is SEO? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. You have to drive traffic to your website. This means that people must know that your site exists. You must use keywords to index your website in popular search engines. When you do this and people search certain keywords in Google or any other search engine, two things happen: 1. It returns only those results that are relevant or useful to the search's query 2. Ranking is determined by popularity By efficiently using SEO, you can influence the amount of traffic your site receives. As far as search engines are concerned, importance is interpreted as popularity. The more popular a website or blog post is, the more valuable the information contained therein must be. Basic SEO Considerations with WordPress You must consider how you use keywords when creating blog posts or site pages. Try to foresee what lovers of your niche topic or product will be typing into the search engines. Also, think about what phrases web goers will type in search engines like Yahoo, Google, and Bing. A great free tool you can use is Google’s free Keyword Tool. The results are keywords people use when they search the net. Use this tool to find the highranking keywords. For example, if your topic is about drum making, you may want to consider some of following keywords/phrases:  Drum  Drumset  Making drums  Creating drums  Drumset creation  How do you make a drumset This book is solely for personal use. Do invest in an anti-spam plugin. Do keep your audience in mind and create copy that personally speaks to them. If you are selling, do create a clear and compelling sales message. If you are selling, do include a call to action on each page. You won't get business if you don't ask for it. Do update your site content and keep it fresh and current. People come back when they have a reason to. Do anticipate and answer your visitor's questions through customer support. Do check your site to ensure all links are working. Do include your contact information and social media links (Twitter, Facebook, Skype, etc). Do choose a Web host that provides exceptional service, minimal down time, and consistent site backups. Do carefully check your content for spelling and grammar mistakes. Errors are unprofessional and show a lack of attention to detail. Do title each page to be search engine (Google, Yahoo, Bing) friendly. Do use a URL and domain name that accurately reflects your business or company name and is easy to remember.

Don't confuse your visitors with too many topics on one page. Focus on something specific. If you get .05% of all the web traffic you are doing pretty well. Don't let your site become outdated. Stay with the times! Don't include too many colors or fonts. Don't ignore or delay reader/customer requests. Return all inquiries promptly or set up an auto responder. You never know whom they may recommend you to. Don't add cheesy low quality graphics to your site.
