The Agile Management Workshop Agile methods, like Scrum and Kanban, empower enterprises to build software fast and effective. Self-organizing teams are the core of these frameworks. Although these agile methods do not have formal roles for management, a collaborative style of management is expected. Best practices for agile leadership shows, that management has to be servant and supporting rather than commanding and controlling. Agile management styles have to be tailored for each enterprise. Questions asked by management What exactly are the tasks of management in an agile environment? How do we make sure, that time and budget is met? How do we control risk? When is an agile project out of control? Who can I nail down on results? How many person-days can we plan on a project? How does a matrix organization go with Scrum? How do we handle multi-project environments? What are the issues if we have many teams, departments and products? How do we introduce Scrum in the enterprise?
The Workshop Goal: The results of the workshop are the concrete tasks of management in the specific enterprise to create the ideal environment for agile teams and processes. Content: Introduction to agile methods. Best practices for management of agile enterprises. Approach: All participants are invited on time and are informed openly on goals, expectations and benefits of the workshop. Group Process: Depending on the size of the group and problem domain, there are different variations of the management workshop. It can be one or two days. The size of the group may be up to 40 people to find consensus. Moderation: Depending on the size of the group and the problem domain, the approach may be more or less formalized. Formalized approaches use kybernetic structuring. The moderator is able to accompany the group through each phase.
Trainer Uta Kapp is a consultant, trainer and coach in the information technology field for more than 20 years. She assists companies in business and management issues. She brings in her experience with agile transformation in enterprises. She is a trained computer scientist and systemic coach. This combination qualifies her to moderate and accompany large groups.
