The UNCRC in Scotland Seminar Series: UNCRC Mural The mural produced by the Sciennes Primary School P6 pupils was launched at the parliament on the 13th of December. The mural summarises key learning and messages from the SUII funded seminar series on the implementation and monitoring of the UNCRC in Scotland that were organised by Together Scotland in partnership with CRFR and CCWP. Also talking at the event were members of the Scottish Youth Parliament, Suki Wan and Thomas Eachan; and the Glasgow Youth Council, Joel Meekison. Suki, Thomas and Joel were active participants throughout the seminar series, and during their presentation they reflected on their experiences of participating, the new knowledge and skills they gained, and how they were using this to inform their work with other young people.

The event concluded with a speech by the recently appointed Minister for Childcare and Early Years, Maree Todd MSP (pictured right), who told the audience that the United National Convention on the Rights of the Child is at the heart of the Scottish Government’s plans to make Scotland the best place for children to grow up in.

The book explores how understandings of religious and cultural difference have been understood within educational contexts at all levels.

The event has already had an incredible amount of interest and spaces are now limited so please book your place (below). A waiting list will also be created so if you are unable to secure a ticket, we will be in touch with details if and when one becomes available.
