Background Rainfall is a recognized trigger of landslides (Guzzetti et al., 2007) West Java is an area with - high vulnerability of landslides (PVMBG) - many hills with a steep slope (Kartiko et al., 2006)

Rainfall Threshold is an important information for development of early warning system. Threshold of Hong (2006) has made a threshold globally, and need to be evaluated and developed in West Java. Satellite Remote Sensing Information (TRMM, SRTM, etc.) may be the best source for the vast majority Earth Surface (Hong, 2007)

Introduction

• The aim of this study is to determine rainfall threshold value in West Java by using TRMM and analyze the relation with the angle of slope.
