[email protected], 09273936539 General Emilio Aguinaldo National High School, Imus City, Cavite, Philippines Abstract PURPOSE In this study, the researcher govern the features of attendance monitoring system using QR code and the acceptability of the innovative platform used in checking the attendance of students and participants point of view about the QR code embed in the classroom. METHODOLOGY The study utilized a purposive sampling involving 20 teachers who adapted the QR code and 36 students who were exposed on attendance monitoring system from General Emilio Aguinaldo National High School in the academic year 2018-2019. Mixed method descriptive data analysis was used in the study and adapted standardized survey questionnaire used in evaluating database interface. FINDINGS The digital application database was available and free on Android smart phones that can be exported to Microsoft Excel, while the system doesn't require an internet connection, ideal for a big class and paperless. With the combined evaluations of teachers-user and students revealed that the QR Code as Attendance Monitoring System was generally very highly accepted in terms of reliability, efficiency, accuracy, userfriendly, security and confidentiality. IMPLICATION The views of the participants paved that QR code in education was environmentfriendly, cost-effective, user-friendly, innovative, very fast and readable codes. Hence, this study is geared towards evidence-based practice through this type of innovation that serve as a preference towards continuous improvement and successful adaptation of the QR code that is essential in modifying the checking of attendance of students in school.
ORIGINALITY The development of smartphones proliferates the use of QR code obtaining features of scanning and decoding barcodes that are useful in modifying the checking of attendance in the classroom. Hence, QR code in school are becoming a popular tool in modern education.
