How do I wear
culottes? Each month The Suffolk Resident asks local fashion experts the tricky sartorial questions. This issue, Lynn Turner, from Cake & Catwalk in Ipswich, advises us how we can wear culottes; “This is a fashion trend that in my mind has been a long time establishing itself here. Cut-off trousers or culottes look great with boots for this current season. Pair with loose tops to manage the lines and even add another layer, a shirt under the top, to give you the real European look. There are some great new colours out there including fabulous pinks to bring out the best in navy. This is my favourite spring so far.” cakeandcatwalk.co.uk

Top of the trends: Layering It may be spring, but April will often bring with it a nip in the air. If the weather turns a touch chilly, layering is the perfect trend to adopt for transitional seasons and wearing a dress over trousers is the latest look to love. Celebrities such as Emma Watson and Emma Stone love the style for
red carpet glam, but for a more day-to-day look, wear a loose dress over cigarette pants. You can either opt for a mini dress and cropped trousers or a longer dress with slits to reveal the covered leg. We love this example from Jigsaw, Bury St Edmunds. jigsaw-online.com
