Related to the Knowledge of Basic Sciences. Prepare that part from the Basic Books Like NCERT (11th, 12th) Biology, Chemistry, Physics mathematics and Geography. you can also use other Books. Expert says that if you do around 20 question correctly is good and 10-15 is OK. In this case when you are done only 10 or less correct question you have to pay more attention to second part of the same paper. First Paper Second Part. All are Necessary and nothing should be left. But Expert says that if you done 45 to 60 correct question out of 70 then you will clear first paper. Try not to solve all questions rather try to gain confidence by answering questions which you know first in case of paper 1. Expert says that mostly cut off marks moves around 70 (60-80), means if you had done about 70 correct question out of 100, you will clear the first paper, but this varies year to year. First Paper is very important to check or consider second paper. In the Second Paper first Question is very important. This single question composed of three or four questions. Experts says that 2 in 3 or 3 in 4 question must be done. This question generally check our analytical power. The question can be like related to any solution, how to make this volume and this concentration to that. The "Origen of Species" is written by whom and what are the main points of it. What is the pH of 8 N HCl. or any type of simple calculation In Second Paper 41 question asked in which you have to answer maximum 14 question. The expert view is, if you written 12 or 13 full question you will get selected. even 10 full answer and rest partial answer also can have chance to get selected. When NET LS and NET JRF - Expert says that if you had written question from different stream you will qualify NET JRF but we suggest that that NET JRF is dependent on two questions. One type of question is asked in the exam and this question is based only on suggestion/ on thought. The question is like that i which you have to think more about the question. it have the sentence structure like "what do you think", "What is you interpretation", "What could be the possible reason", or "How to Solve this Problem" the interesting thing is you can never get any answer from any book for this type of question, the answer is coming only from the knowledge and thinking. And the another question is the first question in which scientists (of the CSIR who set these questions) wants to know the analytical power of the candidate. Both question definitely check your Analytical power and thinking capability of the brain which is very necessary in the Research. If you had not well these question but you had answered all well the chance to get selected as NET LS rather then NET JRF. How to Read - For second paper read only that part which was in your syllabus in M. Sc. For the first paper you have to read all and nothing can be left. In paper 2 just come through the paper, the syllabus is too big that is difficult to cover it but you can restrict

yourself to prepare for that syllabus which was in your M. Sc. Ideally 3 months preparation before the exam is well with a particular schedule. But this also depend upon your knowledge. In Exam try to stick to the word limit while answering, be to the point and quote examples. Many have come out successfully even after believing that they did perform very poorly. Always remember that we the human are more important then any exams. This exam is not the measurement of intelligence and intellectuality of any person. This exam follows some syllabus and it is not the correct scale to measure the knowledge of any person.
