EMPLOYMENT NOTICE Manager – Aboriginal Healthy Living Activities The Aboriginal Sport Recreation and Physical Activity Partners Council (Partners Council) is a consortium of the First Nations Health Authority, the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres, and the Métis Nation of BC. The Partners Council was established to develop and oversee the implementation of the Aboriginal Sport, Recreation and Physical Activity Strategy for BC. In support of its mission to improve the health outcomes of Aboriginal people across British Columbia, the Partners Council has been selected by the Ministry of Health’s Aboriginal Healthy Living Branch to serve as the administrative body for the Aboriginal Healthy Living Activities (AHLA). The AHLA encompasses five core initiatives including: Regional Leader Training Sessions, Aboriginal RunWalk, Honour Your Health Challenge, Fit Nation, and minor grants for AHLA project. The Partners Council is seeking a fulltime Manager of Aboriginal Healthy Living Activities to administer AHLA programs and initiatives. Key Duties and Responsibilities  Engage partner agencies and stakeholders to support the design, planning, delivery and evaluation of AHLA activities;  Maintain program files and database and complete all administrative work associated with funds distribution;  Administer application processes for Regional Leader Training Sessions and grant distribution;  Organize Regional Training Sessions including all logistics and travel for participants;  Network with AHLA community leaders to share information, resources, problem solve, and act as primary hub for all AHLA communication;  Represent the Partners Council’s interests on committees and working groups as necessary. Competencies and Requirements  Post-secondary degree in sport, recreation or health related field;  Proven leadership skills;  Project management experience and demonstrated knowledge of issues management and financial administration;  Applied knowledge of BC’s Aboriginal communities and their physical activity and health related needs;  Strong verbal and written communication skills;  Exceptional organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel);  Willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule and aavailable to travel throughout the Province to promote and support the delivery of programs;  Successfully pass criminal records check. Salary Range: $70,000 - 75,000 Location:
